    MECHANICS OF THE COMPETITION:

    1. Competition will be mainly for explosives detection.
    2. There will be three (3) Courses for this competition.
    Course 1 – Vehicle Search
    Course 2 – Baggage Search
    Course 3 – Open Area Search
    3. Initially, each participant is given 100 points for each Course.
    4. Each participant is given three (3) minutes for each course to locate all the required objective/s (Explosives)
    5. EOD personnel will be the one to place each objective (explosives) for each course.
    6. For Course 1 - Vehicle Search:
    There will be five (5) vehicles to search. Two (2) of which are loaded with explosives. Participant has to locate those two (2) explosives. Once the participant has located the 1st explosive, He has to raise His Right Hand and shall give signal to the evaluator/judge. The judge then gives the signal to the participant to proceed to the next objective. Once the second objective has been located, same procedure shall be made until the judge cuts off the time.
    7. For Course 2 - Baggage Search:
    Same procedure shall be made for this course except that there will be 20 different baggages to search. Also, two (2) objectives have to be located.
    8. For Course 3 - Open Area Search:
    Same procedure shall be made for this course except that there is a designated open area (estimated 600 sq m). Also, two (2) objectives have to be located.
    9. For failure to locate one (1) objective (explosives), a 10-point deduction will be awarded. 20-point deduction for failure to locate two (2) objectives, and so on.
    10. Also, corresponding deductions shall be awarded for handler and/or dog’s error. One (1) point deduction for each error such as, overshot, relieve in area, handler influence, easily distracted, dog reluctant, handler lack of confidence, poor alert reading, dog uncertain, dog not prepared, poor ritual, presentation mistakes, wrong rewarding, false indication, wrong pattern used, dog scratching the objective, pawing, pushing, biting, tripping, etc. All these errors will be discussed further by the evaluator/judges before and after the competition.
    11. 1st, 2nd and 3rd placer will be determined by the points of each participant.
    12. In case of tie in points, the participant who holds the lesser time shall be declared winner over the other.
