It's too bad that Globe is throttling p2p traffic.
They are probably using a more sophisticated traffic shaping technology, probably the kind that ISPs in the U.S. like comcast use. It can't be bypassed by encrypting traffic, nor by using services like TOR.
What can we do?
Should we just wait and see if they will stop throttling after a week or so?
-- Globe probably spent a great deal of money for this traffic shaping technology; and do you think they will just use it for a week? Hmm, I don't think so.
Should we just switch to a different ISP?
-- It is likely that other ISPs will soon implement the same technology.
So what can we do aside from switching to a different ISP?
-- Call Customer/Technical Support now and every day and night and don't stop calling. Operating a call center is much expensive than a traffic shaping technology. If we overwhelm their centers with calls it will definitely cost them money. That way they'll likely stop throttling p2p traffic.
