    agree, agree

nobody does English best but us Pinoys when it comes to call center industry...

Americans - they speak the ENGLISh but they don't have the Customer Service Skills and the looonngg patience

China - hay, ambot kung maka pronounce bah ug sakto ni cla..their Chinese accent are very difficult to "shift" to the Western accent

India - mao sad, ilang accent lisod kaayo, PLUS Americans don't really feel confident that an INDIAN guy would solve THEIR AMERICAN problem.. Believe me, i listened to almost all calls here and I can say that most Americans are really racists...

Pinoys - Well, here's one thing, we can fool our Americans friends that they are talking to someone who is basically based in Virginia or anywhere you want them to believe. Our accent can easily adapt to the western langugage. Ang-ang sukad prep paka, nag english naka..sharo....

plus, out patience and excellent customer service excells..

that is a fact. labor in india is still cheaper than phils. you better check your facts again.

right now phils has an advantage and hope our country and country people cultivate and take advantage of that. especially now when statistically only about 7% of graduates can get into call centers. philippines may have a lot of people who can speak english but not everyone is good enough to get into call centers. the quality as deteriorated over the years. we have to keep that up.

don't under estimate China. as it is rightly known as the sleeping dragon. people ahave looked down on china in the past but china is slowing making it's way on top of the other countries. china has a very stable currency. their exchange rate has stayed the same for the past 5 yrs more or less (i forgot the exact number of years). chinese are doing everything they can to learn the english language right now. we'll see how good they can be in a few years. for now we can take a look at some chinese news anchors in international scenes. or take the people in singapore as an example. they are chinese too. everyone there speaks english. good english. albeit british english but they do have softer accent. that's not too hard to understand. and singapore have good customer service. singapore has call centers too. china has more human resources and remember china has so much dedication. they excel in the things they set out to do. just take their athletes for example. swimming, badminton, table tennis to name a few. and not to mention china has one of the best acrobats in the world. need i say more?

Don't think India's really a threat in the call center competition. Aside from their accents nga mura gyud sa tv comedies and cartoons and some dili gyud ta kasabot, they also lack that "customer concern". I've read some of the emails of some agents to their customers in my e-mail service says. 1 of the emails I've read was just apologies to the customers, but no corrective actions were done. And it was a very obvious letter that something has to be done and the solution was very simple. But the agent didn't do anything but just apologized to the customer. I think it was a 3 paragraph apology. HELLO!

I think the potential threat is really China. Not only that they're catching up on the English, but the trend today is slowly gearing towards the Chinese language. Basin ma kalevel na ang Chinese language with the English language at some point. Maybe we should also prepare for that day.
