We can be considered as one of the most resilient nations, that has withstood the biggest blow of the storm. Our local economy has remained stable, despite of the losses in the export industry.
The problem with us Filipinos, is that majority of us are pessimistic in nature. Instead of being bullish and optimistic about our economy, many of us have turned into cynics that do not have any belief on the govt., that's why our perspective of our nation is bad.
I dont agree with you that we are way ahead of the other asean countries...and yes we are resilient its bcoz we are used to this kind of living; unlike our rich asean counterparts like Japan, Korea, Singapore..they are not used to this kinds of situation. BUT i do agree we are just so pessimistic in nature; but you can't blaimed the populace, contrary to what the govt has been saying about GDP, Economic Growth..blah..blah..blah...that has not been felt by the ordinary filipino.
