I guess we have no way of knowing this.

I enjoyed Cather In The Rye very much when I was younger, and I can't remember if there is any scene in the book wherein violence was encouraged. With RapeLay, however, it seems to me (If the article described it correctly) that sexual violence is very much explicit and even encouraged.

Yes, I truly agree, exploration and discovery is a good thing indeed, and I'm all for it. But what positive thing can we hope to discover through this game?
Of course you couldn't or see nor remember such instances--you're not Mark David Chapman! See?

What positive thing can it contribute? Well, in my personal case, I believe I became a better at animating 3D models (i.e. 3D modelling of human figures via programs such as Poser or DAZ3D) because the sexual scenes were quite elaborately set up, and by studying bone/joint structure of such complicated scenes, it gives hints and clues on how to further manipulate a 3D figure for one's own projects, for more realism and effectiveness. In other less-technical aspects, there are plots sequences in the game that informs you about say, how truly male-dominated a culture Japan has, for there are certain nuances or peculiarities you'd encounter in the game that made you say "Hmmm, so that's why Japanese people tend to react negatively to this...or that." that you'd have difficulty in discovering or knowing about in "normal" circumstances. It allows you to compare what could have happened if the scene occurred within the confines of another culture, such as the Filipino culture or European, or American. This comparison and contrast can perhaps give one better perspective on handling "awkward" situations when dealing with people who belong to such cultures.

Who in their right mind would enjoy a game based on rape?

I'am a hot-blooded male but seeing a woman in great emotional distress and suffering (even though its anime) turns me off. Manimawot ako balhibo ky daghan bati musulod sa akong huna-huna.

The term or the concept of rape makes me uncomfortable and would never give me any satisfaction or enjoyment even if it is just a game. Wala ko'y fulfillment makuha if walay consent sa babaye or if pinugos especially through force.

If I'am not mistaken, I had read in a survey a few years back that the Japanese are the most unhappy people with their s3x lives and in terms of intimacy.

    Go figure.
