transfer business permit and DSL subscription

phone line- the place is just a rented space. so if PLDT allows transferring/changing of name from owner to buyer, just like in your case, then maybe they will allow it even if the place is just rented. I hope so. the difference is that you actually owned the place and sold it to someone. naa man gud lock-in contract for two years and naay termination fee sa DSL subscription and phone line that's why i just wanna transfer it sa buyer. and so that they buyer wouldn't wait na sad for another connection/setup nga ni take ug three days.

business permit-looks like the buyer has to apply again. so murag dili jud diay pwede just change the owner's name.

ok..here's the practical solution - don't transfer the phoneline/dsl to the buyer. just have a written agreement with him that he will be responsible for paying both the phoneline and dsl bills. the disadvantage of this solution is that if he doesn't pay, you will get blacklisted with pldt if/when you apply for a new phoneline/dsl...

business permit - he has to file one and this is for your protection also, bec. otherwise, it will be your name that's on record and you will be the one who will be held accountable.

true, but you're billed together with your phonebill. as far as pldt is concerned, the dsl is an added service to your phoneline, so it's possible that if you can transfer the phone, and as long as the buyer signs a new agreement with them in his name, then pldt will continue the service without disconnecting the dsl....

yeah,of course.sorry about that. but when I applied for DSL,PLDT requires a phoneline man. so i presume that i could change/transfer the name for both. both DSL and PHONELINE have the same business owner.

PHONE/DSL-yeah, if pldt wouldnt allow changing/transferring the owner then i'll have an agreement with the buyer.

BUSINESS PERMIT - i think when the ownership is transferred, i woudn't be accountable anymore because it's not in my name. but of course if that' allowed.

let's clarify this... the way i understand it, your problem is about practicality - you prefer to transfer phone line and dsl without cutting off the service.

as for the phone line, a change of owner is possible bec. as i said, i've done it before. in fact, in another case, when i decided to use my residential line in my business, i asked pldt if they could convert it to a commercial line with my separate business as the owner, pldt agreed without any cut-off in service. of course, i had to sign documents and a new contract for my business, same as when we signed new documents and a contract for the transfer of the house line in my first example.

as for the dsl, its possible that pldt will agree to the same thing with the phone line, and not cut off the dsl if the buyer will sign a new agreement. as in the case of the phone line, this will require a new contract between pldt and the buyer without cutting off the service, without any cut-off in the service.

that's not exactly correct `pre. when you say "ownership is transferred", that means only between you and the buyer. as far as the city treasurer is concerned, you're still the owner, bec. that's what's in the records.

this is like the same as selling a car without getting a new Cert. of Registration in the name of the buyer. if the car gets into an accident, a trace of the plate number will always show that you're the owner, and you could get sued.

so to protect yourself, make sure that the buyer gets a new business permit in his name, or if he doesn't, you should send a letter to the city treasurer informing the city that you already sold the business to the buyer....
