I want you to study this book objectively "The Jesus Mysteries" and are you aware that there are some priests already who don't believe in Jesus' birth (December 25) and the doctrine of HELL?

The Jesus Mysteries: Was the "Original Jesus" a Pagan God? is a 1999 book by Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy that claims to reconstruct the true origins of Christianity. It relies heavily on the Gnostic gospels found at Nag Hammadi. Prior to publishing Jesus Mysteries, Freke and Gandy had collaborated in writing books on mysticism and paganism. Orthodox Christianity, according to them, was not the predecessor to Gnosticism, as almost all scholars believe, but a later outgrowth that rewrote history in order to make literal Christianity appear to predate the Gnostics. I've read somewhere bro nga discredited na daw ni ang "Jesus Mysteries" thesis. Ingun nila naa na lang daw sa fringes sa New Testament scholarship ang mga tao who still believe that Jesus did not exist or that Christianity was merely copied from earlier pagan religions or from mythology.

This just reminds me about what you said in another thread. You believe that Jesus during his childhood years went somewhere to learn with the "masters" or something. Well, if what the Jesus Mysteries is saying is true, Jesus wasn't even born in the first place.

I believe that Jesus existed but the Roman Church is actually based on PAGANISM! Even our Parish priest told me, Fr. Fausto Luzentales, CM that the church is basically PAGAN in origin!

You might want to read and study The GNOSTIC GOSPELS by: Elaine Pagels (is the Harrington Spear Paine Professor of Religion at Princeton University. The recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, she is best known for her studies and writing on the Gnostic Gospels.)
