Go for the Jap cars....Mitsu's and the Toyota's have the better SUV options and performance that should fit your budget.....
The american SUV's are typically heavy and are gas guzzlers (mostly but not all, of course) IMHO

if i have that kind of budget, my choices would be:

1. sta.fe crdi VGT 4x4 (white)
2. fortuner V 4x4 (white)
3. everest XLT duratorq 4x4
4. strada gls sport
5. patrol (presidential ed)
6. starex VGT crdi

if bnew, ill go for sta.fe VGT and fortuner V. if 2nd hand, go for the top of the line models jud.
