kung academic, dali raman n i think. train while young pa.
bt mind you, IQ isn't that super impt in the real world..
70% of successful people are high in EQ. but not necessarily IQ. (im quite sure, but asa mn akng source wui. hehe)
dili bya gyud nako goal nga "smarter" akong baby. support ra gyud ko kng unsa iyang interest. i hope she'll grow up to be well-rounded with an eq to match her iq. okay ra nako she'll go into show business hehehe. pero to answer the question: nature, nurture, and nutrition.
here's what we're doing with our kids:
1. colors are very important in the early years (e.g. room wall paints)
2. pipe in some music (bach, mozart etc..)
3. teach them the value of reading (colorful kiddie books during bedtime)
4. regulated tv viewing (the missus and i only watch the news so our kids naturally followed suit)
5. let them have their play time (rotate summer activities such as swimming, piano lessons, art -
not additional really academic stuff)
6. no daytime naps (esp that siesta thing we inherited from the spaniards) unless we see that
they're tired
7. healthy diet (don't force them, actively growing kids will eat)
8. hug them when they are asleep
9. never compare (e.g. nganong kiat man ka kaau kaysa uban? etc..)
most of the time we tailor-fit our techniques based on the child's character and progress.
watch carefully how you carry on with your life because kids are ALWAYS a reflection of their parents.
let a KID be a KID....
free your kid from any enjoyable things he/she likes. let them play and discover things on their own, be a good parents as well as a good mentors to them...
kids are smart enough baya... ayaw ninyo pugngi unsa ila buhaton para malingaw sila... diba "CURIOUSITY" may led them to do things that they learn and discover?
also proper care and guidance is a big help for a brighter future of a KID...![]()
