Kabanata 25: Ang Pagbabago
Episode 25: The Change
Hera Andal
Memen lays on the steps to the Etherian Throne, mortally wounded, as his daughter Mine-a pleads with him to save his life.Â* But Memen is resolute to the end; he does not want to turn his back on the true love of his life.Â* He even tells his daughter that he could not deny someone who has given him bliss even if only for a short time.Â* Hearing her husband say these words have a profound effect on the queen who is beside herself with grief, with tears beginning to form in her eyes.
The queen is now furious; her husband not only caused her to loose face in front of all their subjects.Â* He even had the nerve to make matters worse by admitting how much he loves his lover in front of her.Â* So Avria asks the captain of the guard to prepare Memen for his death.Â* The guards immediately pick up the royal consort and bring him to face the queen, even as the princess pleads with her mother not to do it. The queen then stabs him with her kabilan and he dies at her feet.Â* As the queen returns to her throne, Mine-a runs to her dead father’s body and weeps.
The Present: Sapiro
Imaw accompanied by Muros is reading the scroll of history.Â* He makes a startling discovery.Â* In a shocking turn of events the history of the land has suddenly changed even as he continues to read.Â* According to the parchment the queen is the one who killed her husband, not Animus; this is a big change in history.Â* What effects will these changes have on the future?
Muros then asks the elder Adamyan, could the presence of the sisters and Ybrahim have something to do with these changes.Â* Imaw then admits that it is possible that they are the cause of the changes.Â* But what will happen now, were these changes for the greater good, or do they have some dark effects.
The Past: Hera Andal
Danaya and Pirena walk into the main throne room where Memen’s body still lies at the foot of Mine-a and her dama Gurna.Â* Pirena can’t believe her eyes, are her eyes deceiving her, is that really the body of Memen on the floor.Â* Danaya then turns to the nearest guard and asks what has happened to the queen’s husband.
Sapiro
A wounded Ornia lies on a bed in the Sapirian Palace completely asleep.Â* Asval is watching over the sleeping diwata when the King and his guards arrive.Â* The King wishes to know if the sleeping figure is none other than Ornia.Â* His brother Asval immediately confirms this; he also tells him that she was wounded in the Etherian attack on the Adjantao.Â* King Meno then asks Asval about what has happened to Memen and their child.Â* But Asval has no answers; Ornia was alone when they found her.Â* With pity the king decides to use his power to cure her himself.
After curing all of Ornia’s wounds the king talks to his brother.Â* This is all they can do for her now; some wounds cannot be easily mended.Â* The deepest and most painful wounds are in her heart, and there is nothing that their power can do to mend it.Â* He then leaves the room even as Ornia calls out to her newly departed loved one.
Hera Andal
A weeping queen Avria leaves her throne and descends the steps to the main floor.Â* She then weeps over the dead body of her husband.Â* Slowly her daughter comes to her side and comforts her mother.Â* But the queen shrugs off the comfort that the princess is trying to give her and abruptly leaves the throne room.
Danaya and Pirena are speaking of the history that they remember.Â* As far as the tiny Danaya can remember, wasn’t it supposed to be Animus who killed Memen, along with Ornia?Â* Then what just transpired, how come Avria was the one who killed her husband.Â* But Pirena does not know the answers herself.Â* Beside they do not have time for all of this; they need to talk to their mother to help their sisters.
Danaya starts feeling sorry for her mother as she weeps over the dead body of her father.Â* Without thinking she runs to the young woman and hugs her.Â* But Mine-a reacts very badly, she asks the small diwata why she has hugged her.
Forest
Hagorn and Raquim are by a waterfall in the forest when they hear the approach of an unknown individual.Â* They are instantly on their guard.Â* It turns out to be Evades carrying the young Cassiopeia.Â* When he notices the presence of the two princes he uses his power to frighten them off as he intends to protect the baby.
Elsewhere in the Forest
Young Aquil is practicing sword techniques with Ybrahim.Â* While their backs are turned Banak and Nakba arrive and try to steal their possessions which were left by a low wooden fence.Â* But before the two thieves can get away with anything Ybrahim spins around and throws his sword at the two would be robbers.Â* He calls them forward, and the two cowardly approach.
Nakba and Banak plead for forgiveness and promise to serve Yrahim as his slaves from that moment onwards.Â* But just as quickly as they can make promises they try to escape.Â* But it is not as easy as Ybrahim easily catches up to them.
Hera Andal
Mine-a: “Bakit mo ako niyakap?â€
(Why did you hug me?)
Danaya is about to tell the princess that the reason is because they are her daughters, but before she can complete what she was about to say Pirena stops her.Â* She explains to the younger diwata that no matter what they tell their mother she will probably not believe them.
Gurna: “Ano ba ang kailangan ninyo kay Hera Mine-a?â€
(What do you need from Princess Mine-a?)
The sisters then tell the Dama that they need the princess to help them free their siblings.Â* But the Princess is not in any mood to help any of the diwata.Â* She even swears to never help a diwata, that is just a testament to how much she abhors their race. (She doesn’t know that she’s one of them, I wonder how much this will change when she finds out)Â* She then abruptly leaves, as Danaya is brought to tears at what her mother has just informed her.
Mine-a’s Chambers
Mine-a is weeping on her bed when Gurna walks in.Â* The Dama tries to comfort her grieving friend and master.Â* The princess cannot understand how her father could give up everything he had to protect the Diwata that he loves and their child.Â* Gurna tries to explain to the princess that it is all about love.Â* When you fall in love you become willing to sacrifice everything for that love.
Gurna then tells her friend about her own life.Â* She is the daughter of a Hathorian woman and a Diwata.Â* Her mother was the only female to be born in her generation and yet she turned her back on her race to follow a Diwata man with whom she had fallen in love with.Â* But in the end her father left them as well.Â* But as a testament to her mothers love there was no bitterness in her heart, for she truly loved the man.
Forest:
Arvak find his son staring off into the distance.Â* He addresses the young prince of hathoria. He has brought good news to his son, he I s about to marry an etherian.Â* But he is not willing to tell him who it will be just yet.Â* Hagorn becomes concerned; he tells his father that he cannot marry an Etherian.
Arvak immediately senses that there is something seriously wrong.Â* He asks his son what he has done.Â* Hagorn then admits his foul deed to his father, he also informs the older Hathorian that Hera Andora knows of what has happened.Â* So it is likely that the queen knows of it as well.
Hera Andal
Mine-a tells her dama that they do share the same fate.Â* They suffered great grief at the hands of the diwatas.Â* She feels that the diwatas no longer have the right to live, they have brought nothing but heartache.Â* She starts to believe that what the Etherians have been doing all this time is just proper, the Diwatas don’t have the right to be treated as equals.
Hera Sensa
Barkus is walking around admiring the gold he has received from Arvak when his daughter walks in on him.Â*
Andora: “Mabuti pa ang ginto minamahal ninyoâ€
(Good for gold, at least you love it)
He immediately sends her away, but she will not leave.Â* She tells her father that he should enjoy the presence of his gold for as long as he has it.Â* Because she knows of a reason why prince Hagorn must not marry princess Mine-a.Â* It’s a little bit of information that has probably not made it to the queen.Â* But that is easily rectified because she intends on telling Avria herself.
Hera Andal Prison
Amihan is asking Pirena about the aid that they were seeking from princess Mine-a. Pirena then tells them that they should not hold out hope for help from their mother because she has already said that she will not aid Diwatas since she hates their race.Â* This completely puzzles Alena, why would their mother say something like that.Â* Pirena then tells them that it’s because of the death of Memen at the hands of Avria.
This information shocks Amihan, how could this happen?Â* Memen was supposed to die at the hands of Animus and not his wife.Â* They later learn that Memen was captured because the Etherians found where he was hiding while searching for Amihan and Alena at Mine-a’s orders.Â* This fact deeply saddens Amihan, because she suddenly realizes that they are changing history by their mere presence in the past.
Sapiro
Asval meets with the Etherian herald at the gates of Sapiro.Â* The Queen has issued orders that none must aid the fugitives Evades, Ornia and her new born child.Â* After reading the message Asval immediately tells he herald that Ornia is not at Sapiro and that Etheria can count on the Sapirians not to help the fugitives.Â* When the Herald departs, he issues orders to the guards to ensure that none may enter Sapiro without their knowledge.Â* No one must learn of Ornia’s location.
Hera Andal
Amihan resolves that they must escape, they need to finish their mission and return to the future as soon as possible.Â* Meanwhile in the servants quarters, Danaya is weeping.Â* Pirena makes a comment about how Danaya is behaving childishly.Â* The youngest sister informs her sibling that it’s merely because she is in disbelief that their mother would be so cruel to her own kind.Â* Pirena then points out that this woman is not the same woman that they grew up to know, she is completely different and untempered by experience and time.
Danaya then abruptly springs from her bed.Â* She tells her sister that she is tired of sitting around as a child.Â* She will do everything she can to return to her original form, they have to find a way somehow.Â* Even if she gets caught she going to free her sisters and they will do what they need to do to break this curse.
