there was once this group whose leader, a baptist preacher in new york, came up with the specific end of the world/jesus second coming date, and ordered his followers to prepare and follow suit.

of course that day didnt happen, and claimed he miscalculated. you'd suspect that this guy would lose his customers right...NOPE, this guy got more customers even after that mishap.
