Sure I may be a little insulted but I dont try to force my morality on other people. And besides, na-affected ba ang Holy Week tungod ani? Wala ba nadayon ang Holy Week tungod ani? Holy Week was still celebrated, so how did they affect Holy Week?
    do muslims do bikini open during ramadan? it's not whether we observe it or not, it's about respecting it.

    @penigabz: I claim no moral superiority over no one, I am just as big if not a bigger sinner than anyone else here, but I do try to stand up and speak out when the constitution is being threatened, not to be noble or to act smart but to try to get other people's insight on this matter. I could care less about bikini show's but when a government tries to encroach on my rights then that's something I will speak out for. You have every right to say and defend your side of the coin, and I applaud you for doing so. That is your god-given right to speak and if someone tried to censor you, wouldn't you speak out against that? What if it was your right to freedom of expression, liberty of abode, right to due process, right to equal protection that was trampled on, wouldn't you stand up and shout?

    @rodsky: Thank you sir, but he has every right to call me whatever he wants, all I can do is take it like a man.

    If my stand on this wrong so be it, but I do believe that someone has to say something other wise if everyone just agreed on this matter, there would be no one to question any irregularities. Thats why there is always an opposition, so that both sides of the argument could be heard. And which ever side presented the most compelling argument will win, but at least the other side was still heard.

    @mak: Im not sure I understand you're point sir, but what you quoted from me, Im saying do we as Christians observe Ramadan or Edil Fidr? Of course we dont, because its not part of our teaching, but neither do abstain from enjoying ourselves on those days. If Im not mistaken, Edil Fidr is a national holiday, do we as Christians stop ourselves from partying? I for one dont stop myself. On those days I go out and eat lots of pork, go out drinking, and party. But I dont do it to intentionally offend my Muslim brothers and sisters, I do it because I can.

    The point sir is not about religion, its about whether the law Gov. Garcia passed is constitutional or not. The newspaper said that she will sue based on Art. 201 of the Revised Penal Code, and Chapter 2, Article 2, Section 19. This is Art. 201 says.

    Art. 201. Immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions and indecent shows. — The penalty of prision mayor or a fine ranging from six thousand to twelve thousand pesos, or both such imprisonment and fine, shall be imposed upon:

    (1) Those who shall publicly expound or proclaim doctrines openly contrary to public morals;

    (2) (a) the authors of obscene literature, published with their knowledge in any form; the editors publishing such literature; and the owners/operators of the establishment selling the same;

    (b) Those who, in theaters, fairs, cinematographs or any other place, exhibit, indecent or immoral plays, scenes, acts or shows, whether live or in film, which are prescribed by virtue hereof, shall include those which (1) glorify criminals or condone crimes; (2) serve no other purpose but to satisfy the market for violence, lust or pornography; (3) offend any race or religion; (4) tend to abet traffic in and use of prohibited drugs; and (5) are contrary to law, public order, morals, and good customs, established policies, lawful orders, decrees and edicts;

    (3) Those who shall sell, give away or exhibit films, prints, engravings, sculpture or literature which are offensive to morals. (As amended by PD Nos. 960 and 969).

    I believe her arguement is based on paragraph 2(b)#2 "serve no other purpose but to satisfy the market for violence, lust or pornography". It says so right here, "SERVE NO OTHER PURPOSE", I believe the Bikini Show was a fashion show where designers could show their newest designs. So in effect it does serve another purpose.

    this is what i'm trying to get through. the Holy Week is losing it's essence, it has become some sort of vacation instead of reflection. samotan pa anang mga bikini open during Holy Week.
