i already heard of robbed and mugged ex-officemates. with shabu getting cheaper and more rampant, it's just a matter of time before there will be a sexually harassed or worst raped and murdered call center employee. god forbid! we just simply cannot give this responsibility to the police. in our country, our cops don't work graveyard.

i remember one supervisor of a call center giving an employee a warning because she was not able to go to work because of heavy floods and has no more access to public transpo at 3am in the morning therefore was not able to call-in 2 hours before her shift. her supervisors reply, "you should have came in a couple of hours before your shift." what an idiot!

these and more in a call canter life. it's just so surprising why a particular center is very strict when all other major call centers in Cebu are "more understanding" in terms of calling in sick. if ever the employee is lying or abusing they have means and procedures to know or prevent such rather than giving an already ailing employee a hard time. it's really that simple!

in one call center it is much easier to get a restraining order or a search warrant than calling in sick, worst if you have a hard-a$$, suck up supervisor & does not decide with objectivity & only cares about production over the employees welfare.

i do understand that it may sound unfair however the employee already agreed on the 2 hour call-in policy.its more about professionalism, you agreed on something and should comply to it no matter what circumstances there maybe..... ( i know many will hate me with this)

if i had to work at 3am her are my options:
1. goto work very early and stay at the sleep room
2. mag taxi

there are many ways to kill a cat and many ways to be at work early and to anticiapte the rain or what-have yous.....

for call centers being a slave driver..... ITS SO TRUE... they may pay well but sometimes money aint eveything.

for security in IT PARK..... poor management gyud........ my friend was mugged infront of the guard house.. and the guard did not do anything...... guards sa IT PARK are useless..........

problem is the government, if i can't walk around at 3am because of crime, is that the fault of the company?? i'd say the police, plain and simple...and about beggars can't be choosers, if you get accepted in a call center company and don't like it, there are many others out there, the way i see it, only 5 or less people out of 100 get accepted in these jobs so......

Chances for unions to form sa mga call centers kay virtually imposible.... its in the contract naman gud na "NO UNIONS WILL BE FORMED or WILL EmPLOYEES JOIN...."

the police or the local government should ensure the security of call center employees.
kanang mga agian nila padulong uli kay delikado..
kaadlawon nagud na sila mauli..
better yet, why not the call center companies provide a bus that will send them home...
dili man siguro problem sa mga call center employees to go to the office, ang pag-uli man siguro..
