wala pako ka try play blu-ray na movie coz mahal pa kaayo then wala pasad ang gusto nako na mga titles for sale.

all my HD movies are .mkv 720p and some 1080p
i convert them to AVCHD format using mkv2vob and transfer them to my external drive formatted to fat32 or I would convert them to MT2S format but need to demux dts sound and convert it to AC3.
coz I dont have an AVR still planning to buy one pa.

I use my PS3 to watch movies in Blueray to my LCD TV via HDMI. Pag una, I was thinking of just buying a stand-alone Blu-Ray player pero halos pareho ramag presyo sa PS3 gud unya the Ps3 plays games, so PS3 nalang akong gipalit.

I don't know how much Blu Ray players and PS3's are diha sa Pinas pero diri.. Blue Ray players starts at roughly 300$ and PS3's are at 399

Barato na ang mga stand alone Blu-Ray Player karon. If Microsoft ever makes a Blue Ray add-on on the Xbox 360; I-baligya ni nako akong PS3 in heartbeat...

That are US prices, not what you pay here. Here, a BD player usually reach 30t and more.
And, the PS3 had the advantage that firmware get updated frequently, adding new features to the system. But the best feature is still the streaming capability and the usb ports in my opinion, which makes it easy to play just everything from everywhere. and as a bonus, you can also play games...
yeah i haven't seen a BD player here locally that's priced 30k below
