What to drink in a formal occassion?

For starters, NEVER do the body shot...even if your having a shot of an outrageously expensive spirit. Dili formal hehe

Normally, people like to start with white wine or even some sparkling wine (light to medium to bold progression.
As the evening progress, go for more bolder red wines. BUT, these days people aren't as stiff as they used to be.
You don't have to follow a certain path...

As for the kind of wine you should drink, I suggest you do a bit of reading and experimenting. There are different grape
varieties and each imbibe a different flavor...if your just starting to enjoy wine, I suggest that you go for a
merlot (red) which is usually fruity and highly drinkable for beginners. Personally I like a good Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah
from Australia (sweeter compared to the bolder and more spicy ones from France). Just make sure its not too warm, swirl abit
to aerate the wine, enjoy the smell (and debate about what you smell in it!) then swallow. Breath.

For white, the most popular would be a Chardonnay or a Sauvignon Blanc (personally, I like the ones from New Zealand).
I like Australian Rieslings too...floral and fruity characteristics. Just make sure the wine is well chilled.

Sparkling Wines are best for celebrating Make sure its reallllly cold! Corte Brut is a good find...cheap but surprisingly clean. Veuve Clicquot is good too..but then again, it is a champagne. If your lucky, grab a glass of Dom Perignon (and tell me how it tastes hahaha).
