aw poor you. you don't get it. tsk tsk. nothing is original in AI. it's a glorified karaoke show. so really, trying to criticize the contestants on that level is moot and laughable.
BUT within the AI standards, Adam's Mad World is one of the best performances this season. it wasn't perfect by any means since he overshot his last note (although he quickly recovered)
i've heard Gary Jules version before you probably even heard that song yourself. and while Adam and Gary's versions take the slower route and start on the piano, the rest of their versions sound distinct from each other.
Gary's version takes on a more depressing and melancholic tone whereas Adam takes on an ethereal, more otherworldly tone. Adam did well enough to make his take on the song his own.
you're obviously parroting an opinion since there's nothing similar between Adam's sound and the original Mad World by Tears for Fears. kataw-anan jud ka kay pataka ka lang og sulti.
just so you know, Gary Jules (the one who sang a cover of Mad World) liked Adam's version. and Gary mentioned that way back in the early 2000, Simon personally told him that Simon liked his version of the song. this may explain why Simon was really impressed with Adam. Simon loves that song.
unsa theme next week? sure na tong Disney?
So what if Adam's version of Mad World sounded like Gary Jules', if at all? It was still the best, least karaoke-ish performance of the night. It certainly held my attention.
At most, it can be said that Adam has been delivering outstanding performances night after night. At the very least, Adam has not had any bad performances since the time he was slammed by the judges for singing heavy metal on country night.
And gay or not, he has a huge fan base which is getting bigger with every episode.
Which is why I think he will be this year's Idol.
I don't know why the judges spend too much time critiquing Scott's performance. It seems they try too hard to justify any negative comment made because he has a disability. If they're trying to be kind, they end up being patronizing instead. Last night, it took time away from the other contestants and they ended hurrying up when Adam's turn came.
at anoop guiding scott all through out their group performance...just made me love him even more.....

read your fave's review..3. Anoop Desai - "True Colors"
Ghastly green cardigan aside, supreme self-confidence sits well on Anoop. Sure, he's had his ups and downs throughout the competition, but there's been one constant — he's adventurous, you could even say fearless. Which is what made his more-than-decent version of "True Colors" all the more impressive. Anoop had control and spot-on pacing — the antithesis of Danny Gokey's more manic performance. But more importantly, he made the song his own, which is what the judges keep harping on. Now, if he could just lose the Mr. Rogers outfit.

yes he could win idol this year but its gonna be tough if he will be up againts either danny or kris. both guys have incredible charm and likeability factor. Kris is very commercial and hes really current and hes got this personality of becoming a big recording artist... so id like him to win![]()
