Kafaet!!!

    mura'g correct si dodong PJ!

disbarment of lawyer councilors who will sign it into law? ka-hilas ra gud! is he the law? why would it be signed into a law in the first place if it has no basis.

let's just say that cebu city, is squeezing capitol back, then that is their legal prerogative as provided by law as powers of the LGU. if he wants to change that then he should go to congress and have provisions in our constitution changed first so that it will be applicable to all, not just his interests.

here is a perfect example Pablo John, in the United States as provided in the second amendment, it is every american's right to keep and bear arms but Mayor Daley of Chicago made into law that it is illegal for anybody to own a handgun in the city which is totally in conflict of the constitution but it was implemented.

now if Pablo John wants to make a doormat of every city council in the country, then he is waging war not only with Cebu City. he should know better, abugado man kaha ni si attorney Pablo John?

mura man sad ug is PJ ra ang kahibaw sa balaod unya mga gong2x na lang gyud si davide ug carillo ug ang mga young, idealistic "cum laude" think tanks sa city hall.

which would bring me to a comment, in capitol unlike city hall, there are no think tanks. only gwen runs the show and his advisers are her brothers and her father and atty. sepulveda is their legal pit bull. city hall also have way better consultants than capitol it is evident in the projects.

    according to the city council:
“Wala na gilangay-langay. We are only observing the procedure prescribed by law. Don’t they want an opportunity to be heard? We’re conscious that the proposed ordinance is within our powers to enact. But we have to follow the procedure,” Davide said.

    according to the law:
As for the proposal to declare all government-owned properties acquired through the Friar Lands Act to be used only for public purposes, the council sought a public hearing.

so you see the garcias, want to get what they want whatever the cost and make it "seem legal" (e.g. camp lapulapu, lahug airport) and they can do it. with a governor, 2 congressmen and a newspaper with the widest readership and distribution, nobody can stop them.

mao na nagpama-ak na sila ron kay tomas. kay si tomas ra gyud ang naka stand up against nila.

wa man gani nabuhat si tomas about barrio luz which is seating on a prime lot but i bet if the right time and opportunity comes, the garcias can do something about it for their benefit of course.

    Capitol to City: Let’s talk
Jujemay G. Awit With Linette C. Ramos & Rene H. Martel
    Sun.Star, Sunday April 5, 2009

REP. Pablo John Garcia (Cebu Province, 3rd district) is challenging Cebu City Hall officials to a “discussion” with him and Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia on the “irregularities” of a 50.6-hectare development at the South Road Properties (SRP).

The governor plans to present their observations on City Hall’s deal with Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI), much like the presentation she made in front of six Cebuano congressmen last Wednesday.

But Pablo John went further by inviting the City Hall officials to make their own presentation. Both camps will then take questions from the audience.

“That would be a very fruitful discussion. As it is now, we are raising questions but they are not responding with specific answers. They make motherhood statements,” Pablo John told Sun.Star Cebu in a phone interview yesterday.

Informal talks of a debate cropped up after the governor hosted a dinner with six Cebuano congressmen—Antonio Cuenco (Cebu City, south district), Eduardo Gullas (Cebu Province, 1st district), Pablo Garcia (Cebu Province, 2nd district), Pablo John, Benhur Salimbangon (Cebu Province, 4th district) and Nerissa Soon-Ruiz (Cebu Province, 6th district).

Pablo John hopes to hold the “discussion” after Holy Week. He also intends to make a privilege speech when Congress resumes session on April 13.

unsay "seem legal"? in fact legal gyud! ang transfer sa camp lapu2x was an order from the president herself! ang IT park is a joint venture between the Province and the Ayala. ang newspaper nga Sun.Star? what's seem legal about that? it's perfectly legal business!

if u say "seem legal", pls cite why this is so...U CAN"T CAN U?

on a personal note, though my entire clan are lawyers, with 3 judges and a fiscal, i don't want to waste my time talking about legalities because personally i am not a lawyer.

the acquisition and timing is very questionable.

i'll tell you this much, a very close relative can have a titled lot transferred to another person's name citing all the legal BS up to the Supreme Court. Who are his "clients"? governors, congressmen and senators mostly in Luzon. that is what i mean by "seem legal" not morally and ethically right but LEGAL and they can very well do it because they are in power.

so don't tell me the garcias cannot pull that kind of stunt too. otherwise, let's stop this discussion because if you will say NO, you are just insulting my intelligence and it will make you appear as a garcia loyalits, worst their media mercenary saying that the Supreme Court cannot be bought.

moreover, the government is not in Real Estate Development business but in the case of gwen and tom it seems that both LGUs in Cebu apparently are.
