    Default Google AdWords Traffic Thread

I did some searching on the forum for a thread or any posts on Google AdWords and Pay Per Click traffic but could not find any... not sure if there are.. and not sure if there is anyone else here using Google AdWords to drive traffic to their websites. Would be happy to know if there are.

So I thought I would start a Google AdWords and PPC thread here that would discuss Google AdWords issues.

To start off, I primarily use Google AdWords now to promote affiliate products... the biggest problem most marketers who use this method is, they get burned easily and quickly especially newbies.

Here is a post on how you can start a quick test campaign to test viability for an affiliate marketing product, like those being sold on ClickBank.

    Why do I use AdWords?

It is the fastest way to get targeted traffic, and to test to see which keywords, adwords ad copy / offers and products convert. If you are planning on building a business over the internet, getting AdWords traffic plays a key role in your market research which helps you fine tune your product and develop your unique selling proposition (USP).

Why AdWords is an integral part of SEO?

SEO primarily deals with the aspect of getting traffic via organic rankings for keywords that are about your website content, product or service. Unfortunately not all keywords are the same, there are buying keywords and browsing keywords. If you spend time, effort and money to get a number 1 position for a keyword generally used by freebie seekers, browsers and non buyers, then you will have a hard time getting a conversion... and all that time, effort and money spent to achieve that rank would be a waste.

If you test keywords first, and find which ones convert, and which ad copy got a click that lead to a conversion, you are able to properly identify keywords to target for SEO and work the ad copy premise into the headline/content of the landing page and develop the USP. You can even create a PPC campaign and bring visitors to a landing page which has a survey so you can properly identify your potential customers' needs.

If you already know what your product or service will be, and you know the demographic of your target market, you can check your competitors websites via quantacast.com if it has a similar demographic as the one you want to reach. If it is, you can try and see if that competitor has Google Adsense and you can then make site targeted PPC placements on those sites, and if not, you can find out where the traffic is coming from (what websites send your competitor traffic and what websites your competitor's traffic also visit.. check it thru quantcast.com) and if those have google adsense ads, you can do site targeted PPC placement.

A conversion is an action you want a visitor to do on your site, be it a sale, an email address they submit or a lead for your service.

So, if you spent for example $1000 to get a number 1 ranking for a keyword that converts at 1%, and a competitor spent $100 to get a number 1 ranking for a keyword that converts at 10%, don't you wish you spent less and earned more in the long run by getting the ranking or rankings for keywords that converted higher?

google analytics is a way of getting website statistics.. if you have a GA code installed on your website pages you are able to see the number of visitors you are getting, where they are coming from, how they are behaving on your site... all the data is to help you improve your site and the visitor's experience on your site, making them stay longer and browse more pages, or do the conversion goals of your site, conversion goals can be a sale, or a lead...

google adwords is a traffic method, a means of paying for traffic through paid placements on the google search engine, this method is also referred to as pay per click advertising, where your ad is displayed only when google users search for keywords that you make a bid on, these keywords are words or phrases that are related to the content on your site.. but you do not pay if your ad is simply displayed, you only pay when your ad gets clicked.. when it does get clicked that clicker is brought to your website or a landing page on your site that you assign for that specific visitor
