According to Lady Ann Sahidullah, there was no ransom paid as she was the one who convinced the ASG to release Mary Jean Lacaba. In fairness to her, she always succeeds in convincing rebel groups in the south. But this does not mean the government forces will no longer pursue the bandit group. There are still two remaining hostages. Once they are all freed, there may be an absolute order to pursue and destroy the ASG. It was reported that there are some foreign terrorist leaders helping them out. If this is true, there is a need to be more vigilant to avoid them having a a support group.
