In 2009, is it still considered a scandal to be gay? Apparently the answer is yes... at least if you're a contestant on American Idol.

Idol snark site VoteForTheWorst.com, which encourages viewers to support the least talented contestants in order to ruin the show, has unearthed photos of 2009 finalist Adam Lambert kissing other men reported website ninemsn.com on Wednesday.

Though Lambert is yet to comment on his sexuality, his fans are concerned that the photos - which also depict the 26-year-old singer wearing flamboyant make-up and with dyed hair - will hurt his chances of winning the competition.

American Idol judge Randy Jackson described Lambert as "one of the most current artist we've ever had on this show. It's like a combination of Steven Tyler meets Fall Out Boy meets Robert Pattinson from Twilight meets My Chemical Romance."

In 2008 it was revealed that finalist David Hernandez had worked as a male stripper in a gay club prior to auditioning for American Idol. He was the first contestant to be voted out of the top 12.

i saw three more pictures with adam lambert displaying and making the whole world know that he is gay. of course, these pictures was before he entered American Idol. but, of course, these could not be buried quite easily, you know how skeptic people are these days. and with the net, scandals are so accessible.

i don't think he will win, especially from the teenyboppers who have been constantly voting him, who are up to now admiring him like a prince charming. this would definitely break their hearts, but yes he is talented. his performance last night was great, but let's just wait and see if these scandalous pictures and his sexual orientation would affect his chances on being the american idol. but i think it would.
