1. I have never said anything about which country is better. I was stating fact. The US is more varied than Canada.
2. I am not making a generalization about you ... I am simply asking ... how can one describe "American" food as bland when they have not been exposed to the many different "American" tastes. That would be comparable to me saying all they have in Italy is spaghetti and pizza from my experience with Dominoes and Sbarro without really having explored the different regions of Italy.
3. I am not making a generalization about people, least of all you. You however are making a generalization of what American food is.
4. You take this personally when this is a discussion. You ask, I answer. I ask, you answer. Welcome to what the internet calls a "forum".
5. Cuisine is not trivial. You wanted to share your "experiences" with other people from North America. You obviously thought that cuisine was important enough to bring up. Isn't cuisine an "experience" as well? Are people not entitled to ask, correct, criticize, question other people's posts? This after all is a forum.
6. Nobody has ever brought up your husband. We were talking about why you thought American food is bland. Your husband's travels or his tastebuds have no relation to our current discussion.
7. Calling McDonalds/Burger King ... "cuisine" is a bit funny.
