In fairness, there are still honest sellers in ebay, and I even just had a transaction last month, pero they were e-stores, not individuals, so kabaw gyud ka nga safe... anyway, just do some investigative work before deciding to buy, and google really is your best friend... just copy some descriptions of the items, usernames of sellers, or lines/addresses that you think may be common to search, then add "fraud" to the search.. it'll shed light to your PI work..!

I was searching for an IPOD in ebay.ph, then this guy’s item was the cheapest among them at around P8,500 for an IPOD Nano 4Gig.Â* As usual, I do some research first before I trust this guy.Â* His description goes:

I also checked his “Member sinceâ€� date and interestingly, he just registered when he had the item for bid.Â* Now that’s “Caution no. 1â€�.Â* I also checked the only bidder in his item, he was also registered only 3 days after that item was for bid – “Caution no. 2â€�. Having this kind of ebay users is alarming already, but I still had myself wanting that item, so I decided to contact him through text.

I did recieve his email, and his real name is Ivan Avizola, as reflected in the email name.Â* After checking the link, indeed he sold a 3230 with 2 bidders on it. I went through the trailing of his bids and items until I found and item that he supposedly bought from a certain dej_16, I checked his Member since date and damn, they had the same date with avi_com. What’s funnier was dej_16 item description:

I come to realize some points to remember in bidding and e-shopping, buy and sell in general:
1.Â* Always do some checking and trailing with the guy you are dealing with.Â* It really does save some amount than risking a needed item and loose it after risking of wanting it.Â* Points to look at:
-items bought and sold by the seller.Â* Try to see a circle of buyer-sellers
-membership dates.Â* Usually new members and selling stuffs right away, and the bidders of their items are with the same membership dates of the seller, or just days difference.
-Feedbacks are useless since these guys can always make a new accounts and do circle transactions to add positive feedbacks on themselves.

2. Ebay, in my own opinion, is not doing a tough work on securing its users.Â* There are people trying to post list of fraudulent sellers, but they banned it, saying that seller feedback is enough to warn buyers.Â* THEY ARE WRONG!Â* There could have been many things they could do to warn buyers before bidding or buying it.Â* Like when bidding is on-going, users should be able to check the IP address history of the users so identical users can be monitored.Â* Their solution is passive.Â* Paypal a solution? Not for ebay.ph!!!!

I’m doing this so other people will be warned.Â* I’m not saying e-shopping is that unsecured, but we all have to be cautious.Â* Hope this will help you all!!Â* Happy Bidding…….

yup.. there are a lot of bogus buyers.. maskin diri sa istorya naa man.. makalagot.. so as a buyer, make sure na trusted na ang seller and naa na comments.. hopefully mahimu na trend diri sa istorya labi na sa buy and sell section na magleave unta ug comment sa seller ang ni buy sa item like a visitor's message para at least makabasa ang lain na mu-buy sa iya and can assure na ok siya na seller.. and as a seller, mas maayo jud na kung kinsa una makabayad, adto ihatag ang item.. =)


pero ang mga bogus buyer or ang kanang mga kriminal ug utok, naa jud na sila pa-agi para mangilad.. jsut have to be carefull lang jud.. yaw padala sa imung gibati.. hehehehe..
