at work as a software developer I use JAVA and .Net.

and to tell you my knowledge in C helped me a lot in migrating from language to language..

Once you fully understand C, proglang migration is so easy...

Besides,
C/C++ is used in shell prgramming, embedded, network programming, firmwares.. drivers.. blah2x...

dali kau ma hi bawan if taga tc ka, kay C by dissection, Pena recommended book mani. But i really never liked that book, i and never bought it.

One book i used throughout college, years ago, was "C/C++ Programmers reference" and "The C Programming Language (Prentice Hall)". I'm not pretty sure about the former one's title as its currently with a friend of mine.
