dude, if you have a permit to carry (PTC) you must carry your gun most of the time (dili lang all of the time kay basin mo ingon nya ka nga kon bisan maligo mag dala dala ug pusil) as you will never know when the danger will come.

would you know when the danger will come? definitely not

that's the logic of it.......... dude

PTCs gives it's carriers the authority to carry a gun outside their homes and cars (private vehicles are considered extensions of homes). i think what you mean is when one only has a PTO (Permit to Own). PTO is different from PTC. PTOs are limited only to homes and concealed 4 wheeled vehicles (at least) while with PTC, one can bring his/her gun along as long as it's concealed (maybe in a bag or in a holster).

Then according to that a gun would not really be a help in a self defense situation, unless someone breaks into your house or you break the law and carry the gun to public places like malls and such or did i miss something here?
mall security are given the special power not to allow anyone carrying firearms get inside the mall and that includes police and military not unless they've got warrants. that is for the security of everybody inside. it's an SOP.

    sir komusta..

ive got a pair of news.. one bad ... one good

bad news, ive been burning my ass to get the financial support o the city for the trip in pencak silat nationals. it seems like everything is in topsytrvy at the city hall. they are still to act on the request. a lot of requests are still pending.. grrrr..its disappointing but we have to move on. im not really that optimistic if our request would still be granted on time knowing the beaurcracy. anyway..im planning to push thru with our Visayas Championships in Pencak Silat later this year..

    and the good news...

Vovinam federation in Vietnam emailed me that they are willing to send in 2 instructors for a week of training here. they will shoulder the airfare. Our counterpart is their board and lodging... any thoughts? hehehehe its time we will see first had Vovinam. if this will come true this will be the first time that vovinam practitioners will be handling training here in the Phils...i would propose that the training would include Quyen ( artistic) , weapons ( dao, chem etc..).. combat ( sparring tech) and Vat ( Vietnamese wrestling)...meeting ta ani Sir Barcode this sunday..Vovinam ta 2PM...
