most people here are busy earning money. birth rate here is low and that is why they need foreign workers to fill up positions that cannot be filled by the locals. been working here for almost 8 years now with my family staynig with me. due to the high cost of living, couples would tend to marry late to get a more financial future and at the most, 2 kids per couple.
here it is very common to see ladies in their late 30s or early 40s to be pregnant (which is the exact opposite there in rp).
one thing you need to remember when you visit singapore... most food here are very SPICY!!! took me the whole year to adjust to the spiciness of the food here. one thing good though is the variety of food, peranakan, indonesian, chinese, japanese and indian food are very abundant.. singaporean lifestyle, you tend not to cook in the house, since food is cheap, might as well eat out day in and day out.

I love Singapore. It's very clean and green. I'm jealous of the big trees they have along their roads. Over here, only the cacia trees at UP can match.

I am also very impressed with their multi-culturality. When waiting for the train, I couldn't help but notice that the group on my right was speaking in Chinese, on my other side - people were talking in English, and at my back - Indian (Tamil?).

Singaporeans have a huge advantage when it comes to languages. They can set up businesses in China and over in the West without having to deal with language differences though some Singaporeans I know say they can't understand the Chinese spoken by mainland Chinese.

Singapore's great, had a great time when i was there...went and checked out the nightclubs, wooh daymn, didn't think they'd have so many fine lookin females there...lol...when you check em out, they actually smile right back atcha , they weren't shy..lol...went to the zoo too, that place was huge, my legs were buggered by the end of the day from too much walking...that boat ride they got on the canals, that was nice too...the only beef i had with the place was with the older Singaporeans...rude muthafz!!!...i guess they was just stressed out old people..

most durians here comes from malaysia and there are many types.. as for what ryan have posted above, most of the girls i see on nightclubs here are not that nice. i see a lot of filipina nightclub workers/receptionist working here who would not be able to work in manila's bars. as for the older singaporeans being rude, well most of them only speak their mother language. for example the old chinese would not talk to you unless you speak mandarin or malay, same goes with the tamil speaking community, but the younger generation all know how to speak and converse in english.
one thing you would probably notice here is when you take the train or bus ride. a guy would not give up his seat to a lady no matter how lovely she is unless she is pregnant. same goes with the elderly. the locals are not very courteous to each other.
