stronger peso
either.
if increase dollar value, meaning, more peso money if we change. effect, higer cost of items.
sample - buying gas, we have to spend a lot of pesos(convert to dollar) just to buy gas outside philippines. which means increase in prices, ripple effect to all economy, mas mahal.
if decrease, medyo infavor sa importers and the effect is lower cost of items.
you may not really see the effect. good example is the Gas. we only need to spend little peso(when converted to dollar) to buy gas.
ripple effect lower cost sa gas etc. if $1 = 1peso, what is $200 for a windows XPjust 200 peso. imagine.
very nice man sad. id like to buy a laptop that is just under $1000. so nice.
i like increase but in overall effect i prefer the Decrease in dollar value. $1 = P1 better. or P1 = $50 so much the better.
if mo decrease ang dollar daghan mawagtanan og trabaho.. specially export side.. bisan mo saka ang peso dili naman mo ubos ang price sa goods..

You are right bro. Gasul never decreases its price even other competitors have reduced 1 peso/kg already. Kon mag 1:1 ang FOREX, di nasad maayo. Wanay manrabaho sa lain nasud.Originally Posted by lestat1116
Decrease dollar value - exporters patay ang negosyo (like garments, electronics, semiconductors and furnitures) pati na OFW. Good for importers. Daghan mawad-an ug trabaho sa MEPZA.
Increased dollar value - importers patay ang negosyo (like surplus cars, surplus electronics, others surplus and other imported materials). Good for exporters. Pero mahal ang paliton.
Dapat BALANCE lang, di taas ug di sad ubos ang dollar value against peso.
I agree with you bro. A stronger peso does not mean a good economy. In other countries, they resort to devaluing their currency just to keep up with the competition. Havent you notice why the Japanese yen is always weak compared to the dollar? Im not an expert about currency matters but I do understand that a weak currency can help an economy keep up with competition especially that it alrady an open competition in the world market.Originally Posted by lestat1116
I hope someone could elaborate on this.
bitaw noh? mas gamay pa gani ang value sa yen kaysa peso
coz they rather export things rather import them...wer losing to china.. naa man jud ko sa furniture side... u.s. is getting their furnitures there.. kay barato and daghan.. ato raw materials for furniture gi export sa china.. wer bring our export business down.. lets see if mabuhi pa ta f dili nata ka compete sa china.. mo invest cguro ko sa vietnam or malaysia for export.. adto nalang cguro ang business..
mas maayo balance tingali sa ubang factors sad, weaker peso means higher fuel costs since we are buying fuel in dollars, ambot uy, bisan asa tingali padulong ang peso, luoy pinoy![]()
A decrease in dollar value is better. The time when we had the dollar ratio 1:25, the people did not have much of a problem on the cost of living. 10 liters of gas was only P100, imagine! Right now we are sinking way fast. Good thing the dollar decreased from 56 to 53, at least there was an improvement. But we can never expect it to be the same as before.
