Mao sad lagi ang question if capable ba mo-handle atong mga video cards karon sa technology sa ray tracing. I am sure videocard alone is not sufficient. But caustic will keep their word for improving ray tracing

Direct X 11 is coming with Windows 7

    DX11

Microsoft unveiled Direct3D 11 at the Gamefest 08 event in Seattle, with the major scheduled features including GPGPU support, tessellation[11][12] support, and improved multi-threading support to assist video game developers in developing games that better utilize multi-core processors. Direct3D 11 will run on Windows Vista and its successor Windows 7. Parts of the new API such as multi-threaded resource handling can be supported on Direct3D 9/10/10.1-class hardware. Hardware tessellation and Shader Model 5.0 will require Direct3D 11 supporting hardware. [13] Microsoft has since released the Direct3D 11 Technical Preview. DirectX 11 is scheduled to be released as part of the Windows 7 operating system. It is included in the Windows 7 beta (build 7000).

Betas does not usually come with the newer versions of DirectX. When Vista Beta came, they were only using DX9(as experienced).

There was once I went into a seminar sa Microsoft on months before Vista got released. Some techie guy sa Microsoft gave us a demo on windows vista beta. When I noticed he wasn't mentioning about DX10, I asked him for updates about DX10. He told me "hindi ko alam yan sir eh" then he was whispering on some of the Microsoft heads. Lingo lingo gud ang mga ulo sa mga Microsoft Heads nga murag walay alam. pure BS if you ask me. Then the guys who attended the seminar gave me a deep stare
