yes. small scale business... thats what wrong with the philipines.. our market is being dominated by foreigners.. that is why we cannot dictate our wage rate on our own... necause we work for foreign companies. we make many filipino businesmen.. their tax goes to the governemnt.. filipinos buy to them.. goes to the filipino workers...

basic econ: market has actually two parts the consumer and the producer, but then again the consumer is also a worker.

we encourage workers not just to be mere consumers but also producers. competition is good in a market good for the consumer. the more the producer the more the supply hence we have lower prices. as ou can see in manila they have gas station selling at 22 pesos per liter ng diesel unlike here in cebu which its still peg at 28-20 pesos...

bE REASONABLE. How can there me more bizmen when there are no buyers? no purchasing power of the 70% living below the survival wage? There is limit as to how many bakeries, or jeepneys, or shopping malls you can set up and still remain profitable..

How many of you started selling clothes, ice candy, cakes in your offices? and what happened? you cant raise ur prices. low prices low profit and then you realize its not worth it.

Purchasing power is the key.

as what you say 60-70% of filipinos actually are above the poverty threshold, lets start with saving... and I said SMEs-- small and medium enterprises and not SM or jolibbe like business...

i forgot whats the title of the article but anyway the main bottom line is.. many filipos do not know how to handle their monies. many filipinos lack the knowledge on business. i know some who were able to send their sons and daughters to college through a small sari-sari store that grew.

if we want to go into business we might as well learn it well diba? as what a biz expert said... do something you like and know about and make it profitable.

Filipinos suffered low quality and our biz cannot even compete abroad bec low quality, low produtivity, ..

do yopu know what protectionism is?! the philippines has never in its entire history has experienced such. protectionism is an economic policy that prioritize our own market than others, since the spanish and the tyding mcduffy law protectionism is just a dream for the filipinos. but i might as well tell you that protectionism was used by super powers during the time their market were collapsing, its the opposite of globalization and when we our local markets are strong enough thats is the only time we participate in the global market. As you can see in many countries now many OFWs are being sent home, because their citizens are given the priority to retain their jobs, better some asian to lose their jobs than their own people.

hello 70%?! id like to point out that only 30-40% of the filipinos are living below poverty line.

quality education.. that is what i mean and not some education. functional education and not some education. our teachers are maid in taiwan because they have higher salary there. but if our teachers are really of good quality they could have taught there. The last time I check a USP teacher is now teaching in US and some other teachers from USC and also UP.

in a saying: "those who can, DO. THose who cant, TEACH." isnt that how our education works.. kinsa ang mga hina kaayo sila ang i gear paramahimong teachers... and those who have better brains are made to be lawyers doctors and engineers...

sir kung wala talagang pera ang mga pilipino sana wala na yang LV store. o hindi na magtitnda ng tag-10k na bag ang rustan's.

we do have a purchasing power kita mo naman maramong imported goods na nasa market, when i say strengthen our products, we have to minimize importation. we have to buy our own local goods. many filipino products have been able to penetrate global markets such as San Miguel beer. because we do not strenthen our own product maghahari sa pilipinas ang mga foreign companies and we as their worker will be at their mercy. by the way if the hyperwage is done under such circumstances, tatakbo ang mga foreign investors sa india and china and many will be jobless.

I dont agree with you. There is NO LAW In physics science chem and math or even economics that say higher wage is not a solution to poverty. Dont make a statement that has no basis at all.

The countries with HIgh wages have better conditions for their poor people relatively. They get health care in Canada, free hospital in Hong Kong, and no potholes in roads in Singapore, and lighted streets in Germany.

Poor are poor, but why do filipinos leave their wives and children to work as laborers in Saudi?

the last time i check.. malaki rin ang mga tax nila. around 40-60% unlike her na 12% lang... that is why they have those free things and not because of hyperwage...

We are not blaming other people for our misery.

But if the govt and the economic leader are USING THE WRONG economic theory and policy that we have been subjected to for the last 50 years with minimal results.

And if we continue to follow their wrong theory, in the next five years, we will be the same, and in the next five years, and the next 5 and before we know it, 30 years have passed and we would be poorer than before..


Acgd to govt data, the number of poor have increased in the last three years..

the prblem with moving theminimum wage to a higher value will have a domino effect with the basic goods and services... malaki yung digit pero yung value mismo ng pera wala... ano yan mickey mouse money.. we'll be wasting money in printing the monies...

peggin the minimum wage at a higher value will not change the situation it will cause a domino effect... since labours will be at a higher price then s its products will to result higher basic commodity prices... ang sardinas na tag 8 pesos maging tag 80... hello! ok ka lang!

Why is there no Ayala Mall in Davao and Ilo-ilo?

Why no SM Small in Siquijor? They have low wages there!

do you know the difference between urban and rural areas? kanang mga nasa uraban have higher wages compare to those in the rural areas because barato ila standard of living there... :d ang imong 1k sa rural dako na value itry daw buhi sa manila na 1k ra imo kwarta maka abot ka ha ug one week...
