Well, if you have a big budget and don't have a current computer go for I7 setup!
But if you have already a computer and want to upgrade, maybe just upgrade to Quad Core!
Although if you have a really old computer then go for I7 Setup.

Intel Core I7 is really great especially if you have 2 dual gpu's in SLI or Crossfire, too many reviews showing great difference againts a Quad Core.
Good choice for a motherboard, Gigabyte X58 UD5 is one of the best motherboards competing againts ASUS P6T Deluxe.
Getting an Asus Rampage II Extreme or a Gigabyte X58 Extreme is really an overkill, because they only show little difference in benchmarks, againts the Gigabyte X58 UD5, Asus P6T Deluxe, EVGA X58. Although if you have huge budget get any of those =p
My favorite Core I7 motherboard would be the Foxconn Bloodrage
XFX X58 is really a bad choice if you read reviews from bit-tech, guru3d, techpowerup, etc. The newer X58 model for XFX would be better but none in the Philippines sell this.

a very satisfied Foxconn Bloodrage user here...probably the BEST i7 mobo in the market now...till the EVGA X58 Classified starts shipping...

as always, price over performance... plus, sa aesthetic na side, daug naka daan sa bloodrage. mura ug braggin rights nimo especially i-open nimo ang case for others to see..
if your mobo can support quad cores, and all else seem like naa paka sa mainstream market, dont go for i7 yet. remember, with i7 means new processor and motherboard k socket 1366 mani sila. also, u have to buy another type of processor cooler kay im sure ure old aftermarket HSF if u have one wont fit sa new socket. thing to considre pa? ure memory. if u have ddr2, bye2x naka ana k its ddr3 welcoming nka, hehehe. and to utlize it fully, u have to use a triple channel mem, and which only translates again to money...

@ glide 1: according to DragonLin sa XtremeSys(one of the 4 Abit mobo design engineers that Foxconn got when Abit went under) the Bloodrage GTI is a cut-down version of the original...
TomsHardware X58 review...of course mag una gyud nang MSI diha...site sponsor gud na sya....hehehehe...my first Eclipse arrived dead...the replacement was so unstable that i have to trade to this higher priced Bloodrage...
