    but yeah, everything's in manila.
    before that dream to happen, you somebody who's extra filthy rich to finance those proposed companies. but that doesn't also necessarily mean that cebu will be the "music capital" of the philippines afterwards. manila has been the capital for a very very long time already. it may also be long before that title will be established in cebu.

    And no, I'm not trying to prove him wrong. In fact, I'm about to strengthen his claim by allowing him to prove it. Honestly, I don't even know anything about the distribution of royalties of independent and signed artists.

    Ey tingkagol! You are correct! There should've been a reference point if we do say something factual. I rest my case.

    Just want to say that the best part in being indie is you still own your songs. If the band doesn't find the current record label they're signed in, they can always go to the next one. And by the time the band is ready to come up with a special compilation of old tracks and new ones, they can always use it anytime. With major record companies, it's different. But this too may change with the trend that's going about these times.

    tingkagol.. to answer you're query, i've been a signatory (as artist) to AT LEAST 2 contracts: one involving an independent band signing with an independent label, and the other: an independent band signing for a compilation album with a major label (G_L_X_ Records, although they claim that they're not a major label), i signed the contract with my band about 2-something years ago, but the compilation was released just weeks ago (imagine the red tape).... And oh, by the way, the royalties stipulated were less than 5% for the band (although i understand the amount coz the album was a compilation, but nonetheless, still very small)... Plus the fact that the Major Label didn't spend for anything coz we shouldered the recording cost ourselves...

    Moreover, i do know people who are INSIDERS in the music community, not only in cebu but nationwide.... Dude, i can safely say that i kinda know what i'm talking about, Trust me... hehehe... However, if u happen to know things about what we've been talkin about, do feel free to set me straight, i take criticism fairly well, constructive or otherwise.. Besides, i'm not here to pick a fight or anything... What we're doing now is good for the scene, we get to brainstorm right

    kahibaw mo ngano? kay mismo kita ang modaut sa a2ng kaugalingon! nisikat ang cueshe, urbandub,junior kilat, sheila and the insects, ug uban pa... kinsa man ang nag-una2x ug pang-daut? diba kita ra man sad mismo? and when you say cebuanos are hard to please... well i think yes! pero ang kasagaran ila ganahan paminawon! hiphop? unsa may ayo ana beh?! dili man lisod ang makahimo ta ug entertainment industry na mupatok diri sa cebu... kung naa lang mangusog... nya ug dili lang kurakuton ang kwarta! hapit naman unta to sa una! year 1997-2000... labi na ka2 naa pa ang NU107 Cebu... sus! kung naa lang jud mangusog! we dont need manila man!
