AFAIK, coolants prevent the growth of algae.
I staying away from this, water and electricity combo turns me off.

Flanker: Wala na phase out, famous and fast sellers kaau ni outside sa philippines, It's just that Philippines don't have a store selling water-cooling kits :P
It tends to get expensive ordering outside sa philippines because of shipping.

@andz - if you can bring water cooling products in, then by all means. Water cooling these days is not that expensive as most think. All the product brands you listed above are good but make sure you do not forget to get the very basic items, fittings, barbs, tubing (tygon prefferably), etc. Would also suggest not getting the "average kits" as they do not always end up as your best or cheapest option - besides mixing and matching in general is the fun part about setting up a good water cooling system.
i hear core i7 processors get really hot so water is probably a good addition to a core i7 system.
