i just want to see ATI come up with a single card to beat nVidia's single card. and don't really care how much performance a x2 CF over a single card solution. mura ba og boxing "paquiao vs morales" dili "paquiao vs 2x morales". hehehe...

@spooker is right but there should also be multiple categories.
    Best in performance. - GTX295
    Best in value/performance. - 4870x2

Pero debatable man kay overclocked, naka daog man sad ang 4870x2 sa 3Dmark06. Just goes to show nga depende ra gyud na sa imung gamit.

i should agree with sir muzik.

we need categories for these monsters since every card has its own specifications.

better yet we categorize them according to:

    1. PERFORMANCE

    2. QUALITY

    3. VALUE

    4. LOOKS <<---<<< i'll go for 2 x 1GB HIS ICEQ4 HD4870 in CF mode for this category. ahahaha! BIAS!

let's not forget about this one.
better power consumption -- GTX 295 consumes power way much lesser than the 4870X2
    better performance/watt -- GTX 295 wins.

The 4870X2 by a huge margin, it also consumes ~50watts more and is a tad bit more expensive than the 295 locally.

adding insult to injury, the current 4800 series will burn under extended use stability testing under furmark, ati had to rig the drivers so it will not full stress the card under the said software.

I hope the trend sa video cards follow that of processors... more focus on efficiency (performance / watt)

Ati.. did you hear that.... wanted to buy the HD48xx series but was put off by the high tdp's.. and I think it's insane to force users to upgrade their power supplies just so they can use overly inefficient, power hungry and heat producing video cards. Hope the 40nm cards will make good on this.
