mt2,md2 bsta metal or distortion..
im not a pro but i've been somehow researching on how to get a good metal sound and tone...
most metal guitarist use their amp's distortion. ilang pakusgan pag-au ang amp to the point that the distortion will get so heavy. they are basically overdriving an already distorted amp...
as for peds, i'm really not sure, anything with "metal" in it's name, if used properly that is, could be good... boss metalzone though isn't a very popular choice among people, must be because it can't deliver the expectations of people... and i have a digitech grunge (courtesy of blues brother jackyboy) which is pretty good, more than grunge really. ok xa kng mg tuga2x ko og killswitch og pantera... hehehe
mild flanging can also help thicken the sound without softening the feel. check the main riff of pantera's cemetery gates. any flanger can do that, i think. equalizer can also also help cause it shapes the tone. a popular method is scooping the mids. this means na u cut the mid frequencies and boost treble and bass. this results to much boom and sparkle without muddiness. like kse's holy diver...
lastly, palm muting is responsible for a heavy rhythm usually found in metal. and go for heavier gauges of guitar strings, they're loud...
in my humble opinion lng...![]()
