I think the best person to answer this is you. Unsa man imung mga file types gamiton everyday? MP3? Video? Documents? Photos? How often do you need to access them?

For me:
1.) For daily Use Hardisk gyud ko with quick access and storage of your files. Lung mapuno, go to a friend or an internate cafe, plug your HD there and back them up to DVD.
2.) For Backup, optical drive gyud ka, dugay man mag burn, UNLESS you install something like Nero INCD which treats your discs as hard drives. Pero mag dala dala gihapon kag disc lagi pirmi, hasul na nuon.
