After the success of his LOTR Trilogy, Peter Jackson was essentially given a blank cheque and complete control over his next project.
And boy he didn't disappoint. KONG is just a good piece of escapist entertainment that everybody can enjoy.

Its amazing how such a small country like New Zealand can produce such world class filmmakers. Peter Jackson is truly a Master Director. He da man!!

It seems --- with all the philosophizing of George Lucas and the hysteria of Steven Spielberg --- their stars dim in the humour, poignancy, poetry and drama, and romanticism of Peter Jackson's "King Kong."

With the LOTR, Narnia and King Kong on its sales pitch, soon the international community of film magic will be flocking in New Zealand for Peter Jackson's piece of magic. And the traffic in New York City, Vancouver and Sidney will have died down to implode the one in Auckland.

And if only for the sake of the continued employment of many creative people in Cebu, I wish our skill will be able to showcase something similar with Wingnut or WETA.

In the meantime, poor Gary F. will be sitting with his staff in his animation studios in Llorente St., Cebu City, staring at the possibility of being able to attract enough action.

When I first heard P.J was doing a remake of Kong as a follow up to LOTR, I thought it was a big mistake. Was I wrong.

You guys should check out the production diaries on kongisking.net to see how they created this spectacular film.

Most of the environment of Peter Jackson's "King Kong" was miniature model composited with live-action shots in several layers of greens. This was why we noticed every now and then Letteri and his crew getting lost in their sense of ratio and proportions. His motion control staff practically saved his day.
I see, I see... yup his name is Andy Serkis.
