Another lame and BS-laden explanation by telcos. Why are they so interested to take away what you already have paid? I don't get it.

The explanation by the telecom firms is BS. The so-called HLR doesn't take up much space and any decent database can handle tons of them. Having a load "shelf-life" is just a money-stealing scheme.

    mao2!
    unfair au cla

pila man diay capacity sa usa ka HLR?
tagpila man diay ang usa ka HLR?
how much does it cost to operate the HLR 24/7?

    Granting:
SMART has around 30Million subs, Globe around 20Million, Sun around 10Million.
so pila ka HLR ang imong paliton ug i-maintain?

if dili na mo expire ang SIM or load, ang imong HLR nag store ug subscriber nga "not moving"...meaning, if an HLR has 1million capacity, unya walay load(kay dili man kaha pa-expiron) ang tanan SIM nga naa dinha nga 1million kabuok, gi maintain/save sa GSM network provider, pero nag kaon man kana ug kuryente, ang mga tawo nga do the maintenance, ang license per sim stored sa HLR bayaran man na sa SMART/GLOBE/SUN ngadto sa NOKIA or Siemens or Ericsson or Huawei or kung kinsa ang nag himo sa HLR. so mao tingali ni ila pasabot sa "clogging" sa network kay asa man nila ibutang ang mga "active" SIM? so mopalit sila ug bag-o nga HLR para lang sa mga "active" SIM?

    on the load expiry,
pareha ra gihapon ni sa walay load, if 1million capacity ang tanan naay load pero not moving for 1year...
1million x 5pesos = 5millionpesos nga wala naglihok sa imong HLR, unsaon na lang ang OPEX?
who will pay for the cost of maintaining your 5pesos or no load SIM?

did you know that banks charge your deposited money a monthly "maintance fee" if it is not moving or what they called dormant accounts? kahibalo mo ug tagpila ang charge? and that they require you to have a maintaining balance of 5thousand some as high as 150thousand depending on the service that you availed from them. and that if your balance fall below the required maintaining balance there is a corresponding charge?

if ako ang SMART/GLOBE/SUN...mo sugot ko nga dili mo expire ang load or sim basta ang mga SIM naay 5thousand pesos average daily balance sa ilang account...hehehe

    Another example:

@leo: ur example is totally irrelevant. Magamit man gyud na ang load eventually considering that almost everyone here in the phil are using cellphones(unlike sa video example nimu)... di pa gani cguro ma abtan sa expiry, mahurot na ang load.... but dili gyud malikayan panagsa na naay panahon dili nato kaayo magamit ang load nya maabtan ug expiry, money loss na na sa atong part... considering sa daily profits these companies earn, i don't think ikalugi gyud na nila... how come sa uban countries wala may expiry ilang mga load?

yeah very unacceptable and lame excuse....hopefully naa najud kausaban sa ilang systema wui
