"allah loves those who do good" (they even have a single word for "those who do good") .. it's a pretty common islamic expression. of course "good" is subjective, mao nga sala na sa naginterpret kung giunsa pagtudlo ang pasabot sa "good". sala pud sa nisabot.

point lang nako bro ayaw igeneralize (it's a recurring theme in these here threads) .. islam has a tougher job than christianity. dili madalidali ug usab ang culture and tradition of the arab world.

So the prophet muhammad is not an Islam, since is the one who instituted the Convert or Die policy.

i don't know, maybe. history states that while in mecca they were severely oppressed for being monotheistic. he couldn't take the persecution anymore and on many occasions sought armed support from leaders until a group in medina (i may have the names of places wrong, those are the only two that pops up my head right now) finally granted it to them. it was to defend themselves, and in those days that's how things were done. why can't mohamed do what king david did before? anyway, after medina he started to conquer and convert by the sword .. i say he was corrupted by the power suddenly put on his hands. but that's just me guessing. damned if i understand why, but what i'm saying is have a look at what the qur'an actually teaches.

ok, here's what i'm getting at- the muslim world is full of violence, that's a fact. but such arrogance if we say the answer to this violence is the bible. c'mon, even the God of the old testament gave leeway to esau and prospered him. what do you think is the tool which has the power to persuade violent muslims to changed their ways? yup, the qur'an, mobilized by groups of peaceful muslims. There is just no way the bible can do that job. i am not saying it is the RIGHT way or the TRUE way, who am i to say that? besides if i can do it my way i'll just inject them all with valium.

i have no intention of starting an apologetic on islam here. i do not claim any knowledge at all. all i'm saying is that it's rather very "typically christian" to bash a belief system which calls you "the people of the Book". i urge you bro to widen your understanding. it's the least us simple folks can do.

    ok, i had to google:

"...Whoever kills an innocent soul it is as if he killed the whole of Mankind. And whoever saves one, it is as if he saved the whole of Mankind..." (Surah Al Maidah, Chapter 5 Verse 32)

"Those who believe in the Qur'an, and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians - any who believe in God and the last day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (Surah Al Baqarah, Chapter 2 Verse 62)

there are millions of religion around the world...and which among them do you think is the "Kingdom" that's referred to by that passage? no religion has been specifically prescribed by the Bible.

wrong again. did you ever study history? it wasn't muhammad who said convert or die. it was his caliphs or his followers.
