the point here is ACADEMIC INTEGRITY. Honorary doctorates are still "doctorates" at some point which mean, it must have some quality of intellectual rigor.

which i suppose you mean that those who are given must be intelligent to have such kind of award? what do you expect from a boxer, have an IQ of at least 200 or know the theory of relativity?

they're just full or pride i guess. compare their places to other universities in the world, each of them barely made it to the top 100. see Manny Pacquiao's place in the world in his field, he's second to none. see the comparison? [pun intended though]

not exactly a high iq but has made a contribution to knowledge, to the particular field that he was conferred on. No doubt, pacquiao has contributed so much to Philippine Pride and boxing - so give him an award due to the field, not an honorary doctorate in humanities.
