try to understand the phrase...alrightcoz my understanding in this phrase is that those believers intend to make themselves happy in the sense that they think that there is a supernatural being up there whose watching over them at any time and is gonna save them from trouble...they are just too blinded by the truth while us atheists dont believe in thos bullshit.

Why did you bother to ask yourself? Why do you suppose? You may not be atheist, my friend. You may be somewhere between atheist and agnostic. But you may need to research on that yourself because I don't know labels.

I think you are simply displeased with how people or your religion shove their belief of God down your throat.

Not that there is anything wrong with being an atheist per se, but just because you don't believe in religion or your view of God is different from that of the majority, doesn't make you an atheist.

I'm a believer by the way though I went through an atheist phase for a short time.

u didnt read the entire post of this thread didnt u and u just simply jump in to conclusioni can be an agnostic if u want if its concerning that god existed.

Me.. my "deconverstion" happened a year ago. I don't expect you guys to believe me but here goes. Well it all started when I tried to experiment. As curious as I am I wondered what would happen to me if I don't pray to God for the whole month. At first it was difficult cos everything I do, I kept on thinking about god. Even going to work, going to the mall even talking to people. And then it hit me what if I focus my thoughts on everything I do or did. Like if I had success for example coming to work on time. I thought what where the factors that I was able to come work on time. Was it getting up early? the route going to work? the mode of transportation? And also I would analyze why I failed. I soon came to realize that success and failures are about the same even if I prayed compared to when I'm not praying. The difference is that now I have developed a method in analyzing my success and failures instead of blaming or crediting god. I was able to conclude that praying does not help us in anyway shape or form. Well it does seem to relax our mind a bit but for me it makes me dull by just accepting things that happen because it was god's will. Now if praying is not needed then we don't need god and altogether religion. But this is just my thought, I know for a fact that atheism is not for everyone, people really need religion and god into their lives.

And where did you get that phrase or quotation? So, are you saying that I cannot quote from Albert Einstein because I am not Albert and Einstein and I'm just a copycat? Here you go. That's karma my friend. Isn't that ironic? Why rely on Bernard Shaw when you can also depend on your intelligence? See? THINK my dear and use your COMMON SENSE!!!

OT: By the way, are you aware here in Istorya that one of the rules here is that when you make such an argument you must also cite your sources as best as you can?. That's why there are books and references here in the net or else you are LOST.

I lead a moral and just life.I help the poor,I give to charity,I volunteer time for kids.I have gone to an oddysey of hardknocks and I have never counted on a god to protect me.If god was real,wouldn't time spent in the chapel have more impact on success than experience? Its an odd thing that in warfare god tends to favor the side with superior equipment and better training.

Sa imu gipangbuhat, buhat man ni sa Christiano...if wa ka nituo ni Kristo, I think dapat Opposite tah na imu gipangbuhat karon.

U will say wa ka mutuo, pero I think kana imu gi ingun nga Moral is based ra sad na sa imu nabati sa sermon sa simbahan. mga teachings man sa bibliya nang Charity, help the poor.. etc..

You did Not believe in God But your doing what He want his Believers should do..

I have always been an atheist! My parents were practicing catholics eveytime we go to church when I was a kid and I just don't have that urge to follow what I don't see, hear or feel. I'm married to a religious wife but she never asked me to follow or worship her god. She knows that I am one - our lives is as happy as ever been, respectful and caring.

its difficult, for a pinoy atheist in a country governed by theistic belief.

i was a regular kid who went to church and believed in everything they said. but i was a questioning kind, something i kept quiet about till later years...sometime in teenage life i had the balls to ask the church head these questions, and i got labeled for asking such questions.

that's what you get if you let somebody else do something for you, instead of doing it yourself. thus started my journey in to the UNKNOWN. i struggled to keep my cherished beliefs even just to salvage a piece, I really exhausted my OPTIONS...but who am i kidding.
intellectual honesty, the time for fooling myself came to an end. i cant be something i'm not. some of my friends remained irreligious theists, its an image thing society impose that made them so...but i dont really care about that anymore. that journey lead me to where i am today. and that journey still continues.

they say i'm a heretic, an infidel...like it was a BAD thing.lolz

The entire universe is GOD according to Pantheism. I am one with Pantheism too for GOD is both Immanence and Transcendence! GOD who is ALL in ALL! Amen.
