Any Linux Distro as long na install nimo ang 3D graphics
games knoppix... basta dili ati ang graphics card ug x-fi ang sound card ok ra ang mga kasagarang linux ron.
pwede ra any linux distro. just install the appropriate proprietary drivers sa imo video card.
try checking out Ubuntu Ultimate Edition: Ultimate Edition
Thanks for sharing man.
/Thread - any linux distro will do. As long as there is Wine and OpenGL. Backtrack 3 has built-in Wineand OpenGL but BT3 is specialized for Penetration Testing(Hacking). Just look for other distros out there specifically SLAX based. I don't know if Ubuntu has, however I use Ubuntu(8.04).
eh, relying on OpenGL based games limits you to such a limited number of games ... mostly older games. Wine has problems with anything complicated. Sure your five year old game might run on it ... but that is not gaming ... that is settling for what you can play instead of what you want to play.
Also, Ubuntu or any Linux distro doesn't have to have packages for it for you to run it. Doesn't anyone know how to compile anymore?
Finally, if you want to seriously game on Linux, The Cedega Gaming Service - Play PC games on Linux is your best bet. I believe it requires a subscription, but it gives you access to most recent games. However, the most practical solution is to simply dual boot. When I used to run Linux exclusively, that is what I did.
If you have a fast internet connection, fast PC, Ubuntu Ultimate Gamer's Edition na lang.
@Vern - I assumed the OP was only planning to play some DotA, WoW(i managed to run WoW in Wine) or some CS because it seems like he is referring to an internet cafe. Of course, for that one it will work. But if we add the local MMOs around which always doesn't work with Wine, now that's a problem.
Cedega is fine, almost no hassles. But you will have to pay on the royalty fees. Me is even having plans to get one to play World of Goo in my lappy(i still haven't tried it with wine. but... ROFLMAO)
WineHQ - World of Goo 1.0 (it works, omg)
