yes, the odd VC can be utilized as Phsyx cardThe third one can be different which will be used and dedicated for physx. I may be wrong but I believe it is possible.

Two Identical cards with different Cooling. Yet at have to test them in crossfire as the tests I have done today was with the EAH 4870 Matrix on the i7 System.
And this is the yet to be released M4 motherboard from ASUS.
