    Default Hard Drive problem not detecting or causing PC to restart

    i just brought a 80gb sata western digital hard drive from a fellow istoryan,

    this is my problem...

    the sata hard drive isnt being detected by my computer...when i place a jumper in the drive....it keeps restarting my computer....this has two power source...

    my question.....
    is there a problem with the hard drive
    is there a compatability issue here

    i hope u can help me with this problem......

    Bro actually wala manay jumper ang sata jud...when you say wala ma detect when mana ni occur since pag taud jud nimo or ok cya b4 pero karon lang pud ni occur nga wa na mo detect?

    For me hdd has nothing to do w/ RESTART issue...try to check the bios and clear CMOS then try again. IF its not working again replace the PSU kay usually adding new devices to the PC sometimes maka cause ug problema.

    mobo details

    fic k8-800m
    processor is sempron 3100
    memory is kingston 1 gig

    kung dli nako e taod ang jumper...dli gyud ma detect ang sata hard drive....if butangan nako ug jumper...mag cge ug restart..even if cya ra nga hard drive ako ebutang....

    1. SATA drives dont have jumpers bro, wat do u mean place ka jumper?
    2. SATA drives may have 1 or 2 power connector, just use any of them, not two of them at once.
    3. If your drive is dead, it wont cause a restart.

    try to check basin grounded ka bro.

    i dont think nga grounded akong computer...i do place a ground on my unit....

    Wala lage na jumper ang sata....walay labot ang pag restart sa imo PC okay? mag cge na cya ug restart because naay lain problema na.

    basig na disAble nmu sa bios settings imo SATA... but on default on man na basig imo na off... try lng.. din maybe sayop nmu pagconnect2x...

    kung disable pud and sa bios setting....dli unta mo detect ang hard drive kung butangan ug jumper...pero kung butangan ug jumper...mag cge ug restart
