kung baguhan lang ka sa web programming, PHP is the better tool to start learning the concepts. PHP will allow you to immediately get to the core of doing web apps and not overwhelm you with proprietary libraries, plugins and whatnot. just stay away from frameworks at first and you'll do fine.

now kung dati na ka nga web programmer just go learn both and put them in your toolbox.

and oh, re VB6 for the web (not that i condone hijacking of threads ), technically any language or framework that can stream to the command line can be used for http apps. so yes, VB6 qualifies. at least for a masochistic exercise of webapp development

sa ako, php ang medyo dali i understand lalo na if naka agi ka ug C++ og turbo C nga programming. then somehow dali lang i obtain kay open source pud sya and daghan kaau tutorials...

I know I'm too ambitious pero I really wanted to work abroad pag makagraduar nako.

PHP is a widely used scripting language today

pero para dili ka libog, why not study both?
if you have background in C/C++ or java it's easy to learn PHP
if you have background in Visual basic similar codes is for ASP

yup, sanggano boy is correct. if you want to master php then you should have a background in c/c++ then in asp you should have background in visual basic....

I think you can't develop ASP apps on a MAC/Linux platform since it's Microsoft owned
