kini man gud life sa abroad, mga material things imo gusto imo ra jud makab-ot coz u have the means naman lagi esp if gadawat ka ug sweldo nga dako. pero kana wa nagpasabot nga magmalipayon ka tungod sa imo mga butang nga naangkon kay diha sa imo kasingkasing kabalo ka nga naa pa jud labaw anang mga butanga nga makalipay nimo.

naa ko na amigo (a special friend), he was born and raised in the US pero 100% pinoy jud sya ha.. u know unsa iya gibuhat? he's now in his late 20s, ni anha jud sya sa pinas para mo experience life and look for deeper meaning of life. sa una ako sya gisultihan nga daghan pinoy nag yearn sa iya status nga US citizen plus his family has decent jobs sa TATE. puro sila professionals then naa gani pod biz iya bro sa TATE. u know unsa iya sulti nako? while it's true that u have all the material things and enjoy a comfortable living, driving a nice car, owning a big house, u just come to a point that u feel empty deep inside and see life as boring and meaningless. so mao na, nilarga sya pinas to experience something different that he never experienced before.

if paradise pa US, why would he care to fly to pinas and be in a place where he hardly know anyone?

Savor the moment while it last. You deserve it . It's an achievement and it's no small feat. But don't get too hang up with the material things and confuse it with paradise because it's not even close to it. Very soon this new found paradise of yours becomes a norm and life becomes monotonous. You'll realize that life is more than just cheap hamburger, camry , insurance or a house. Make your stay there a humbling experience and not of arrogance. For what was given by HIM can be taken away in an instant. This is coming from a guy who worked there years before you and with parents and siblings living there.

    I concur.

It is a distorted view of success and happiness.

You can buy pleasure but not happiness.

You can buy luxury but not comfort.

I guess it's perfectly normal for newbies in the US to feel that way.

life abroad is not paradise? i totally agree 100%... why?

Living abroad? What do I get there?

    1. high cost of living
    2. high salary
    3. the ability to use credit card often than you think you can possibly can
    4. living a life of deceit, pretensions or hypocrisy
    5. a life full of depression and stress due to sleepless nights on where to get the money to pay off credit card debts, bills etc, and the money to send back home...

the typical filipino working abroad...hmm familiar? (not all ofcourse)

paradise is right here...at home, where my family is, where my friends are, where people who have moulded me to become what I am today... I could not care less about the material things people do have nor how big their salary is abroad...

    why?

Because I can earn more than they do here in the Philippines, it all depends on how motivated I am to get certain amount as my salary...

I would not trade a very loving husband, loving parents and siblings as well as relatives I have here just to savor the air in abroad and be slaves of foreigners...

If anyone who should benefit from my efforts, and skills it should be my home country and not others...

for without my country, my being a Filipino... then who am I? I will just be a person who does not know who I really am...

one day, if God permits I will go abroad it will be a family vacation together my husband or a business trip nothing more, nothing less...
