i like christmas coz the spell is still on me.... it turns me into a kid again
... but hate it coz i don't have the christmas like other people do... lottsa food and gifts... the one i've always dreamed of never happened.

what makes christmas special to me is the reminder of the love that is constantly missing ... not the love of a supernatural, or the love of a special someone... a certain kind of love that is what christmas is supposed to be... yet as it seems, the "love" has been too commercialized that when we think of christmas, we think of candy canes, christmas trees, snow and santa...

every year i am reminded that humanity is at a loss to explain himself... no matter how great and numerous his pantheon of gods are or how noble and righteous are the different versions of his faith in the divine.

every year this special day reminds me that the love that is suppose to be in each of our hearts is measured by how many are the gifts that we recieve, how large is our band account, how many dishes we can serve during noche buena, or how lighted our houses are during christmas eve.

i laugh at myself sometimes, when i find myself think the same way... and later be silenced by the sheer dumbness of it all. here we are, preaching the virtues of love that is being celebrated in the season, and yet we mindlessly continue this culture extravagance, apathy and commercialism that has completely ruined what the true meaning of christmas is.

the love that is being celebrated at christmas is not suppose to be celebrated only at this day; it is supposed to be celebrated everyday. christmas is but a reminder that the love of our fellow is suppose to be a primary virtue that we celebrate in each and every act that we do everyday. but it seems that we NEED a reminder even of that... and now, we have ruined the reminder with our avarice and consumeristic tendencies.

indeed perhaps the world needs another tragedy so that the humanity in each one of us... that sense of compassion and love for one another will gush forth... no wonder each and every religion has messianic tendencies... humanity, it seems, will never learn.
