    there

    and there they were
    seen it all
    can anybody blame them?
it just was bound to happen

    how they formed shapes
    soft o shapes?
    yet still too hard?
    for the wind to blow

is there any meaning to this?
    to this wondrous flight
    moving as they kept still?
going up and down in one place?

they did not care for answers
all they could do they did
    they watched
    they watched

DO YUPPIES DREAM IN ELECTRIC SLEEP?

    the supervisor
    with his ralph lauren suit
    and gucci boots
is giving me the panasonic eyes
    his fascist views spew invectives
    laced with force-fed starbucks realism
    a cough
a crack of voice on sinewy strains
a grunt strewn into the dancefloor
    (a.k.a. the sweatshop)
not his voice for he speaks the language
    of capitalism
as he brushes his ozone-breathing hairdo
the other end of the line spiels
    “oh this is bullshit!”

“oh we’re doing everything we can sir”

    says i

    a prompt reply
    while wondering
    if someday machines
    will upset the status quo
    and synthesized
    such a deserving comeuppance
    for his brute master

a few days from now i will get laid-off
    but thats ok I guess
    i will be another sheep
    lost in the shuffle
(while the fat son of the manager
    doesnt give a shit
    about his new ipod shuffle)

we are all ****ing sheep aren’t we?

    BOPLICITY
(inspired by a Miles Davis tune of the same title)

    billowy brims
    of

    surging
    on crimson
    cacophonies

    through(the

    eyes w e a ry
    as old
    smoke

    pensively
    cold

    undulating
    calculating
    the body
    speaks of intangible
    yet hides
    what’s beautiful

    billowybrims
    ofbodily
    b o o g i e

    ----

    SNAKE

    Slither hither
    a smile
    through the crowd:

    serpentine
    through chatter
    and waiters

    and plates
    and wine glass stems
    and heads

    and arms
    and torsos
    and feet

    Slither hither
    a grin
and a last move to a win:

    your back
    through the door
    and out.

    favorite Emily Dickinson poem!

Because I Could Not Stop for Death

Because I could not stop for Death,
    He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
    And Immortality.

We slowly drove, he knew no haste,
    And I had put away
My labour, and my leisure too,
    For his civility.

We passed the school where children played,
    Their lessons scarcely done;
We passed the fields of gazing grain,
    We passed the setting sun.

We paused before a house that seemed
    A swelling of the ground;
    The roof was scarcely visible,
    The cornice but a mound.

Since then 'tis centuries; but each
    Feels shorter than the day
I first surmised the horses' heads
    Were toward eternity.
