Immorality is rather an archaic word.

Gloria and Garci, for point of information, did not just talk, of course. If you would listen it again, there's somehow a conversation of "manipulation" and "kidnapping" and among other things questionable as they are suspicious.

Now, if you would let this thing just pass, then you are actually tolerating that it's okay a president can call up a Comelec Commisioner in the wake of vote counting, talking about "manipulation" kidnapping... etc etc..

Miriam taunts fellow senators about Garci

By PATRICIA ESTEVES, The Manila Times Reporter

Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago on Monday predicted that many senators will lose sleep once former election commissioner Virgilio Garcillano starts naming senators who called him up at the height of the election last year.

Garcillano is set to appear on December 7 before a House joint committee investigating the wiretapped conversations that purport to indicate that President Arroyo cheated in the 2004 polls.

"There will be a lot of insomniacs among senators on the eve of the House hearing on the wiretapped controversy. Garcillano will still testify and he will not go away even if these people call him names," Santiago told reporters at a press conference.

Garcillano is expected to divulge all politicians who called him up at the height of the canvassing of the votes.

Santiago asked the Senate Committee on Ethics and the Office of the Ombudsman to investigate the senators that Garcillano will name in his testimony.

Ngano man diay pod ug motawag.

Bisan pag kinsa nitawag, DILI MA ERASE NGA SI GLORIA NITAWAG NI GARCI and the tapes say it all.

Alleged Garci 'phone pals' ready for lie test

The war of words between former poll commissioner Virgilio Garcillano and his alleged opposition "phone pals" during the May 2004 elections intensified Tuesday with both camps demanding they all submit to lie-detector tests.

Cebu Rep. Clavel Martinez and Parañaque Rep. Roilo Golez, both named by Garcillano's lawyer as among the candidates who called him during last year's election, denied talking to the former poll official but they accepted the challenge to undergo polygraph test to prove they are nor telling a lie.

Garcillano's lawyer, Ed Tamondong, said the denials from members of the opposition are expected but the former election official is challenging them to a lie detector test.

Reacting to Garcillano's challenge, Martinez said: "I am willing to, but on condition Garcillano himself submits to a lie-detector test. And also his lawyer Tamondong also submits to a lie-detector test."

Golez also said he is willing to take the test but Garcillano should go first.

Both Martinez and Golez denied a statement made by Garcillano's lawyer that they were among the eight lawmakers who gave his client a call during last year's elections.

"Wala pong katotohanan 'yan, hindi po ako tumawag sa kanya (All lies, I did not call him)," Golez told DZMM.

Golez suggested that they look at Garcillano's phone records from his telephone company to find out the candidates who phoned the former poll commissioner at the height of the vote counting in May 2004.

Golez said the only possible time he and Garcillano met was when Commission on Elections Chairman Benjamin Abalos called for a briefing of all candidates in Metro Manila last year.

He said they were given a demonstration of the counting machines that were supposed to be used for the elections but was turned down by the Supreme Court.

Although Martinez confirmed she talked to Garcillano, she said it was the former poll commissioner who went to her office to lobby for his confirmation at the Commission on Appointments in which she was a member last year.

She, however, denied talking to Garcillano during the elections on matters related to the polls.

"What reason would I have to call him when I am very comfortable in my district?" Martinez said.
Ayayay! Si Garcillanopa hinoun ang nanghagit. Sukli na ninyo si Garcillano. Pa lie detector test unya i pa lie detector pud siya about the Garci tapes kay tell the truth gyud siya di gyud mahadlok ani.

Bi bi bi cge lie detector test dayun.

Earlier Garcillano named dozens of politicians, including seven senators, who allegedly called him up during the May 2004 elections.

He said senators Loren Legarda, Juan Ponce Enrile, Alfredo Lim, Maria Ana Consuelo Madrigal, Richard Gordon, Panfilo Lacson and Manuel Roxas II called him up or personally talked to him during the 2004 polls. He clarified he was not accusing them of any irregularity by calling or meeting him.

Garcillano gave the names of his callers when Minority Leader Francis Escudero questioned him during the House joint committee inquiry into the "Hello, Garci" tapes.

He also identified several congressmen who spoke with him during the polls including Arnulfo Fuentebella of Camarines Sur, Amelita Villarosa of Mindoro Oriental, Edgardo Zialcita of Parañaque 1st District, Suharto Mangudadatu of Sultan Kudarat, Anthony Miranda of Isabela, Lorna Silverio of Bulacan, Peter Paul Falcon of Surigao del Sur, Emmanuel Carlos of Valenzuela, Munir Arbison of Sulu, Ernie Clarete of Misamis Occidental, Danilo Lagbas Misamis Oriental and Jurdin Romualdo of Camiguin.

He said political personalities including Nenet Punzalan of Quezon and Liwayway Vinzons Chato, former congressmen Jaafar of Tawi-Tawi , Mayor Vicente Eusebio of Pasig also spoke with him during the May 2004 elections.

Garcillano made no mention of former senator Robert Barbers who was heard on the controversial "Hello, Garci" tapes.

He said aside from President Arroyo some candidates who phoned him asked about "election concerns."

The former poll commissioner earlier identified Escudero, Deputy Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, Parañaque's Roilo Golez, Benasing Macarambon of Lanao del Sur, Clavel Martinez of Cebu, Quezon's Rafael Nantes and Danilo Suarez and Federico Sandoval II of Malabon-Navotas as those who called him.

He earlier urged those whom he had previously identified to reveal what they had discussed.

"I did not accuse anyone. I just want you to say what you told me," he said in his opening statement.

Garcillano said he went into hiding because he was fearful of what the administration would do after the alleged wiretapped tapes surfaced last June.

In his opening statement before the House of Representatives, Garcillano said he was unsure about what the Arroyo administration would do after the tapes surfaced.

"I was more fearful of the administration because they do not know what I would say," he testified before the House wiretapping inquiry.

He added that he later feared for his life after the House of Representatives released a warrant for his arrest. He also cited reports of a P1 million bounty for his capture.

"I have been so maligned...I have been convicted in the bar of public opinion. The scales of justice was off balance. I did want to come to the hearing. I wanted to say something," he said.

Garcillano said he will talk on all matters "outside of the wiretapping" citing a petition he filed before the Supreme Court requesting that the wiretap tapes not be used in the House of Representatives inquiry.

The main issue is the wiretapped conversations... Just by naming names from both oppossition and administration camps what is he trying to prove?
That's it's ok and alright to call him? Maybe when there's no malice involved but the wiretapped conversations clearly showed discussions regarding poll fraud and even kidnapping.
