Blackface Lollar Pickup review.
I just picked up my strat from Mel's (embot) place. I have the neck and middle pickup only...I have other plans for the bridge...right now I am still looking (what I have is the stock SCN bridge)
website's Description:
Pre-CBS 60’s Strat®-style wind. Classic Strat tone with full body and punch. Overall tone has a prominent midrange, clear treble and a full bass that has a defined piano like attack. Scatter wound wax potted coils with Alnico 5 magnets degaussed to typical vintage 60’s strat pickup specs. Medium output. Vintage style cloth covered lead wire. Middle is RWRP for humbucking operation in positions 2 and 4. Flatpole. Neck 6.4K, Middle 6.5K, Bridge 6.8K
The Lollar Blackface pickups is amazing. It has more oooomph and cleaner comapred to my stock SCN Samarium Cobalt pickups. It's super clear and clean...and yeah PIANO LIKE ATTACK...it has that. I've been playing clean ever since I got the guitar back and its just sooooo clean and fun to play. If you are a strat CLEAN tone guy ...then this pickup is a must have. For a non-noiseless pickup it's pretty noiseless. BTW for the record, this is my first non- noiseless pickup. I love this pickup.
Sample me messing with it
