Cover Songs or Composition?... w/c is ideal to play?

i wonder how 'named' bands can play a set na all originals (?) when they have their starting gigs.
cguro after many months or years of mixing covers and compos in their repertoire...
i admire bands who are humble enough to admit that they play covers (aside from their origs) coz they like what they cover ...(and they don't care what people think about them)

i admire bands who are determined and gutsy enough not to play covers from the start we suck as musicians but we did it and it's not impossible... we happen to grow up in a time where everybody was doin covers and the punk bands are doin originals. sometimes i think we turned out better musicians if we started out doin covers... hmmmm... prolly not but there's nothin wrong with covers. it's up to the band really... if they feel like doin covers then so be it
