hmm.. looks like taas taas pa ma obsolete ako PC yeahay hehee
i think it's much more better to stick with our current P45/x45 C2D/C2Q rig set-up as of now then upgrade to another platform sometime next year rather than upgrading this year and get disappointed when the current monster's specs get obsolete or drop it's prices on the next year.
Intel to Launch Core i7 for Mainstream Market by Mid 2009
By K R Nambiar, CRN, Jan. 29 2009, 1300 hrs
Intel said that it will be re-positioning the premium and pricey Core i7 processor for the main stream market in second half of 2009. The chip giant also informed that the building blocks such as DDR3 memory and motherboard for the processor, previously codenamed Nehalem, will be available at attractive prices around that time.
"The response has been excellent and sales have been to our satisfaction. Any processor launched in the premium segment is expected to generate sales at a moderate volume to begin with and our experience with Core i7 processor based systems has been more than normal. Currently Intel has launched the highest performance versions of the Core i7 family of processors in the extreme and performance segment. As it is currently catering to a premium segment, the motherboard for these segments has a feature-rich configuration and hence are available at premium pricing levels," explained Rajesh Gupta, Director, Sales, Intel India.
The cheapest main board available for Nehalem in India is currently Intel BOXDX58SO which is priced at over Rs 15,000, while DDR3 prices were reported to be 200 percent more than comparable DDR prices.
" We can expect DDR3 to be at mainstream price points by Q309 when 4 series and 5 series chipset based boards supporting DDR3 are available in volume," informed Gupta.
According to Gupta, post mid 2009 Intel will drop prices of Core i7 SKUs to ensure that PCs sporting Core i7 will be priced on par with current mainstream PC prices.
I think mag ka mahal na ang mga piesa after 3d quarter this year.. hmm
dilemma ni da to get Q9x50 later or wait a little bit more for Core i7.
